| Rose That Lasts Forever
I was having lunch at Lansdowne Mall a couple days ago, and came upon a stand that was selling these neat flowers that were basically sealed inside vacuumed glass containers. They say they are real flowers, and will last forever. I don't know about lasting forever, but it should last a pretty long time. Anyways, I thought it was pretty cool. The guy was telling me that Japan has had this kind of thing for 20 years. I've personally never seen it around before...
Just thought I'd share for anyone that might be interested in something a little different and unique.
This particular one costs $21.99 but they have smaller versions for $8.99 and $15.99. Or they have a huge one that's $199.

well..someone could just buy one and break it and see if it starts wilting. I think science would say it's fake...however don't quote me on that.

Well, the story is that everything inside are from real flowers, but was arranged by hand to look like that... so it's not that they picked a flower and just put it in the glass container.
Here is the Engrish from the flyer...
"This will naturally preserve the beauty for years. The flowers and foliage was individually picked, trimmed and arranged, and by using an unique drying process. Their natural colours had been successfully retained.
Select the premium grade flowers from gardens with best cares.
Select flowers of the healthiest and the most beautiful condition. Dry each petal carefully.
Neatly insert the touched up petals in the vessel. Decorate each flower's appearance in classic style. Compose them as acing of flowers expressing the arts of sentiment.
Thoroughly eliminate the moisture in the vessel. The flower will last long and maintain its beauty for years. Firmly close the vessel with its lid for air tightness."

im sure she'd much rather have a bouqet of a dozen real reds every year.
