E85 in vancouver?

Has anyone heard about any stations putting on one these pumps? I did a quick search there are only three e85 pumps in Canada and they're all in the east coast.

The cost would probably be significantly more for these pumps + tank reservoir but shouldn't the demand for this 'cleaner' and higher octane fuel compensate them for it? Any news would be appreciated. Thanks!

the reason why the octane is higher is because there is more ethanol in the fuel and most vehicles arent designed to run with that much ethanol in the system

yes ethanol at that extent will ruin your fuel system if it isn't designed for it.

much like drinking 50L of 85% Alcohol beverage is going to be the last beverage you'll ever drink.

And that's why I laugh whenever I see flex fuel vehicles running around here.

Okay... well thanks for the heads up. But I knew that. The reason I was asking was because I was going to get my car tuned on it.

Im pretty sure I asked if anyone has any news about a pump opening in Vancouver in the near future. But I guess I have to stick with the pump chevron on the streets and c16 when I get to the track.

Thats exactly what I was thinking there are enough cars to be able to support a pump if not several. I guess the extra cost of having an extra reservoir tank is not really financially viable yet.

"tuned for it" is useless

it's useless to get a spot on tune if your fuel line is going to disintegrate and leak fuel all over the hot exhaust.

FPR and pump..... reservoir tank.... well you have all the basis covered then it's good.

why not mix your own? 15% fuel 85% ethanol, how hard could that be? ROFL.

there are countless guys int he states running E85 on their RX7s and hitting over 500whp on 17-20PSI.

If we had E85 I would so get an E85 tune on my rex. it would be cheaper than race gas, and I could use it for track days/solo sprints.

all you need is larger injectors since it burns faster. and no fuel line issue when your whole system is -AN.

i really hope e85 comes to vancouver
octane rating for e85 is between 100-105
u would need at least 40-50% bigger injectors and bigger fuel pump to support e85 over gas.

The only issue with E85 is that, yes, while it has a higher octane level, it also produces far less MPG than your standard 87-94oct gas.

If you really want E85, your best bet would be to travel down South and visit one of the half-dozen or so gas stations in Washington that offers it.

E85 is now available in West Vancouver, British Columbia.
Arcade station - 4370 Marine Drive

We have quite a few cars running E85 and making astounding horsepower. Using the stuff for years now by driving down to Marysville and it's an awesome fuel. Glad we could bring it up to BC!
