I used iOS5 beta 5. I doubt there are any more features in betas 6, 7 and 8.
The only new stuff I can think of is iPhone 5 specific features.
I also use iOS 5 (I'm a registered Apple developer). Most developers agree there are other features hidden in iOS 5 that Apple hasn't officially announced.
For example, Nuance voice recognition, SIRI and even Facebook integration (despite the rumors that Steve hates Zuckerberg and would never support FB). Whether these are part of the Oct 4th announcement, or are features Apple plans on adding in iOS 5.1 remains to be seen.
Well, I don't think all features in iOS 5 will run smoothly on the iPhone 4 so if Apple really wants to get people into their ecosystem it makes more sense to have a 4S that's capable of running iOS 5 properly along with a 5 as the top model. Posted via RS Mobile

Not sure what other "big" features apple is planning for ios5 but using the dev beta version of it on my iPhone4, it felt like it ran smoother than ios4 Posted via RS Mobile
^ The rumored Voice Assistant which also apparently requires more RAM, hence the other rumor of a 1GB iPhone.
Tell me this: Do you think that all developers, from the small-time guys like myself right up to the large corporations (EA, Facebook, Twitter....) get the same version of iOS 5 to work with? Or that all features/capabilities are enabled for everyone?
that wouldn't make sense unless they require you to outline the functionality of your app before receiving the beta firmware. otherwise how would developers know if it breaks or clashes with anything in the firmware?

If the voice assistant requires more ram than what te iPhone 4 has tn it won't be on the iPhone 4 version of ios5. Hence I still stand correct that ios5 runs good on iPhone 4. Posted via RS Mobile

The entire iOS download contains the OS itself and all the "apps" that come with it. Apple can develop the "apps" independently of iOS itself and developers don't need to worry if their apps will "clash". So Apple can save a surprise or two. Whether they do we'll have to wait and see. Posted via RS Mobile

Siri worked on a 3GS, so I"m sure the iPhone4 could handle it.
Bro, its even out yet. They barely released any information on the features and stuff and "supposedly" its out tmr. I hate these delays, gonna get it when it comes out though

Yeah, but the rumor is Siri isn't just an app anymore but an integrated function of iOS. The memory requirements may be so it can remain active in memory to ensure always-on instant access.
