I'm not sure what it is about me and finding stray dogs but here we go for round two lol..
Found in the No.2 and Williams Road area. No tags, not even a collar.
Anyways, I washed him, fed him, gave him water. Here's his pic:
If you have any info on who the owner(s) might be, post here or send me a PM.
The dog will be staying at my home for now.
Update Jan 14, 2012: After grooming!
Update Jan 17, 2012
Called an animal shelter to leave my info and they ended up picking up the dog
They said it's because they've had problems in the past where the dog's owners accuse good samaritans of stealing the dog or blame them for any harm that came to the dog while in our care.
If the original family doesn't claim him, I will take him IMMEDIATELY
Update Jan 18, 2012
Went to the shelter today to visit the dog and found out no one has called looking for him at all. I filled out adoption papers today and walked with the little guy to let him go pee and stretch a bit.
The shelter has called and left a message for the owner (via information from the ear tattoo) and there has been no response thus far. I strongly believe this owner does NOT want the dog back and I will of course welcome the dog into my family ASAP
Update Jan 19, 2012
HUGE update:
Long story short, I legally own the dog now!
Since I had found the dog and was taking good care of him, the shelter gave me the option of making a donation instead of paying the standard adoption fee. I asked them how much the adoption fee was and they said $300. I gave them $250 along with purchasing the dog license and a box of raw food
He's 2 years old and will enjoy a long and happy life with his two new brothers. on the ride home, he was pretty much bouncing off the walls. He eventually felt it was a good idea to literally straddle my left arm as I drove and stayed there
Anyways, he's home, he's excited, he's happy and so am I
Details on why I was able to adopt the dog in this time frame for those who may be wondering:
Spoiler!
The shelter has allowed me to legally adopt the dog for the following reasons:
1. Since I found the dog on Thursday of last week (and also prior to this) no one has called looking for a lost westie. No one has called to report a lost one either.
2. The owner was called twice and two messages were left with no response whatsoever.
3. After 7 days, ownership of the dog is immediately transferred to the shelter. The dog can then be legally adopted. I asked whether the 7 days begins from when I found him or when I dropped him off at the shelter and it is upon the discretion of the shelter manager. So she allowed me to adopt the dog today since I found him on Thursday of last week!
4. I already have 2 dogs at home and am a capable, caring owner. The new dog also gets along with my boys rather well since he was there from Thursday - Monday morning already.
5. I filled out the application forms, gave a donation, and signed their adoption contract.
I also think they could clearly see how happy the dog was when I visited yesterday to let him walk a bit and go pee
saw one last week , couldn't grab the poor dude, got one last year too, seems like more and more people are just letting their dogs out and then lose them or are purposely just sending them out without a collar / tags on purpose to get lost, quite sad : /
what happened to the first one ? i remember the thread but forgot the result
the first one was eventually picked up by it's family (according to the shelter). although, i'm a little suspicious of whether or not the real family picked him up. either way, he has a home and that's what matters. i still miss him to this day!
slight update on newest stray dog:
he's at the groomer's right now for a proper bath and haircut. will be taking him to my dogs' vet to scan for a chip (if he has one).
In your next life, you will come back as Cesar Millan's main dog. Complete with 40 bitches to have sex with whenever you please. Thanks from all doglovers

Ok, I'll rephrase. He will come back as Cesar's main dog, neutered but has full control of his sex drive without ever worrying about impregnating a bitch. Better?
i'll post some pics tmrw when there's some daylight
i can tell you he looks a hell of a lot better now lol. also, he's already starting to believe this is his home already; barking when people come home, looking out onto the street to keep an eye out, etc.
happy as a pig in mud!
as you guys can tell from the first photo, it seems like the owner didn't care too much for this dog. the groomer did find a tattoo in his ear today so we should be able to find the family. whether or not they want the dog back is another story.

That would be totally messed up man.
Come to think of it, do you know what would be even more messed up? If and when you contact them, they pretend as if they genuinely lost the dog and once they get it back, they try to get rid of it again.

The sad truth of the matter is that there are people out there that purposely let their dogs loose so they can 'lose' them and not have to deal with them anymore.
