| Dealer let me take home that I was planning on buying. Now don't want to buy.
So I test drove a 2009 Accord coupe i4 EX-L w/ Navi/85000km/for $17.2k yesterday. I drove it for like 30 minutes and I really liked it, this is the first coupe I have ever driven. We negotiated for like an hour and I said I would buy it. But I couldn't pay anything yet because the bank was closed already. They put dealer plates on the car and let me take it home and come back today but I couldn't because I had work.
Now I'm not even sure if I want to buy this car now that I have driven it longer.
-seats are uncomfortable
-parts feel cheap
-road noise
-leather seats feel like ****
-driving this car gives me a headache for some reason. iunno, first coupe i ever driven. Might be the shitty headrests, who designed this?
keep in mind I haven't signed ANYTHING or paid ANYTHING yet. Can they charge me for something? Like wasting gas? Putting kms on the car? UPDATE on post #45

You are one lucky SOB then. Bring the car back and let them charge you a reasonable amount of money that you feel comfortable with. This is as good as it gets and go do yourself a favour and buy a 649 ticket.

I would use the CRA baseline for auto allowance as a reasonable price to pay to the dealer if required. Also just fill up the gas tank and mention to them upfront.

Have a game plan of what you are willing to give them.
Bring the car in ASAP.
Tell them how you feel about the car and how you cannot go forward with this transaction. Be honest.
See how they respond.
Shoot back an offer of your own and see if they accept.
Find a middle ground that both parties feels comfortable at.
Leave with a smile on your face because it just helped you get away from a car (commitment) that you don't want.
Everything is on your side. You're not getting fxxked.

Family member did this with a car a couple years ago, they simply brought it back and said they didn't like it anymore. Dealer wasn't too happy but whatever. Like Great68 said, no contract, no obligation. Good luck OP.

Thats like saying, I went on a date with this girl and she seemed great. Mentioned I was looking for a serious relationship. Took her home and she couldn't cook, farted a lot, had no boobs and nagged me all night long. Do I have to marry her now?
Dude, drop the car off. Say thanks, enplane why the car does not give you what you need. Perhaps they can help you find another car that does. If not say thanks, and part ways.

You dont have to pay anything, dealers allow extended test drives on cars all the time, I have seen new cars leave the lot for 2 days at a time, the people get charged nothing and more often than not do not buy the car or any car.

You'll piss the guy off personally, but you don't really have an obligation to buy it.
I don't he they can attempt to charge you anything, except maybe gas.. fill up the tank, tell him sorry, and move on as quickly as you can.
Probably nothing you say will make him feel better about you, so it's best to get out of his life asap.

Here's what's more concerning - u agreed to pay $17k for a car which you ended up not wanting within a day - you have impulse buying issues. Are you a woman? Seriously, do some research, test drive more cars, make an informed decision based on what you want, not what you think you want

If ur as much of a pussy as you come across, just drive up, give the keys to front desk and walk away, like a weirdo - you have no liability whatsoever
I have a feeling you are afraid of a potential uncomfortable situation with the salesperson. Man up and deal with it, it will make you a better adult
