| Can't get my PVR to work for my Telus Optik
I recently moved and got my TV set up with Telus and all that, so I'm new with this HD PVR stuff.
From the manual and what I saw on YouTube tutorials,
all I need to do is go to the guide, select the show and time slot, and hit the "rec" button on my remote.
Then I should see a "red circle" beside the show time slow on the TV.
Correct??
The (green lit) power button light on the Optik Box flashes every time I press the "rec" button, but nothing else happens.
So it's responding, but not really doing anything.
This is the model I have:
(Please help... I'm going to miss Bure's jersey retirement if I can't get this to work.)

That is a regular HD set top box. You will need to get a PVR to record.
Go to channel one and you will see PVR is disabled |

OK. So if I'm correct, Telus basically gave me a "secondary" unit.
My model can do PVR, but only if it's connected with the "primary" PVR-capable unit?

Just call Telus and ask them what's going on.

the 330 model you have will not record on its own.
if you ALSO have a 430 installed on your account (the stb picture posted by GC8) then your 330 model will be able to record as well.

?? | yes I would confirm with TELUS what yoursigned up for.. did you sign up for a contract?
each service only needs one PVR and the regular hd box can record aswell *whole home PVR* but if you only have one TV and want to record there must of been a misunderstanding |

the usb is for service update, call telus/check your system, telus did the same thing with me, they sent out a technician and installed the proper one, DONT LET THE TECH TAKE THE OLD ONE! the telus tech that took mine never turned it in, so i was paying for 2 boxes for months... took 4 hours on the phone with 3 different supervisors to get all the charges and such refunded.
