Home Depot has a sale on Milwaukee M18 drill/driver kits that has them at $200 (down from $250) and an additional battery included (worth $125). Great deal. I picked up one for work.

So tempted. I already have 12 volt cordless fuel impact driver. The extra battery , though plus another two and bag. Damn. Gonna break down and get it. Can never have enough tools, lol. what am I gonna do with 6 chargers hee hee. The tools are the non Fuel compact series I assume. I was going to get the new 5.0 mAH batteries from Milwaukee. Right now they have a BOGO promo on.

They are the non-Fuel series. The batteries are supposed to be completely cross compatible between M18 and Fuel, though, so I can't complain.

If you're into Milwaukee cordless, KMS has the XC5.0 Lithium Ion batteries for 115.00 each. Way less than US prices. Figure in the exchange and this is a steal. Three day sale starts tomollow.

If you shop at Lee Valley, you know they don't have too many sales. Special buys, yes.

However, if you need stuff that never go on sale, this is the closest you'll get to a sale.

- Lee Valley Tools

Gift cards at a discount........ not a great discount, but it's a sale nonetheless.

Not sure if KMS Tools will give you a rain check on "special buys", but I purchased the last two Milwaukee XC 5.0 Lithium batteries this morning at the Coquitlam location. Not sure if they will have more later on or if other locatons have any left........... cashier told me they had a basket full earlier.

KMS here in Kamloops had some still. Picked one up for my dad as a belated birthday gift, as I know his is starting to hold less and less in the way of charges.

A little late, as in a month late, but at least it's in the thread it was supposed to be in now............

Quote:
KMS Tools has their gift card promo on all month. You get 15% of your card purchase added to your card. I put down 300 bucks and got 345 bucks on a card. I did this before I shopped, so extra 45 bucks to spend. Sale items just seemed that much better. During Christmas, they have a 12 days of savings thing and the gift card promo is part of that, too. I'm not sure, but IIRC, it may have been as high as 20% of gift card purchase. Anyone else remember that? Also this morning, from 6:00 am to 7:30, they had a members only event. Got a free pair of Diablo reciprocating saw blades, Timmy Ho's coffee and doughnuts - also start to their monthly 3-day sale.

Got me a pair of those fender stands that were on sale.

Just got email from KMS Tools. Looks like they're going to have that 12 days of Christmas sale again this year. Day 1 tomorrow is 15% off one club price item. I'm waiting for the gift card promo again. Hoping it's more than the 15% offered back in November.

WTF IS CANADIAN TIRE THINKING?????

14 and 17 mm missing. FU, Mastercraft. Let's not have 3/8 and 1/2 inch wrench in the SAE set. This is a metric country. What. Nobody works on Hondas?

Holy, jumpin' Howie Meekers, they don't have a 12mm in there - okay, so the 14mm is in there, lol.

Wera does that, too. Not sure if it's on purpose or not. Sears in Bellingham has some good deals on wrenches........ even with exchange......... okay, maybe not. Fuck, the exchange rate sucks monkey balls right now.

The sizes don't make sense. I bought the 11pc when it was on sale, then bought the 7pc when it also went on sale just to get the 12mm (when on sale, it's cheaper than buying 1 12mm stubby wrench) and then bought a 17mm stubby gear wrench at regular price because I needed one to take off my fuel pump, so now I have a complete set.

That's what they want. You to buy open stock. I absolutely hate that. Good thing when I bought my Craftsman sets way back when, they didn't play games like that. Gear wrench sets are pretty good for metric sizes. The newer Craftsman sets go all the way down to 6mm!

Sears.com

If only that 18mm was a 19mm.......

9/16 is just slightly bigger than 14mm, so I can sort of see why some sets skip that one, but realistically any metric set should have 6/8/10/12/14/16/17/18/19/21

Didn't want to start another thread about tools, so this seemed like the next best thing.

Anyway, here's my report on those small, portable jump starters. I bought me a Neiko jump start/charger thing a couple months ago from KMS Tools. It was on sale during Black Friday. I think it was going for 65 bucks???

This thing is small. It comes with a nice case and adapters to charge most things, from cell phones to tablets and laptops. It also has the ability to start vehicles with dead batteries. I wasn't sure, but what the hell, I thought. Not having to carry around heavy cables and having to wrestle with them would be a plus.

Last night, I got a chance to try it out. Dead Honda Pilot in parking lot. No issues whatsoever. And, the battery power indicator on the starter/charger showed no sign of needing to be charged again. Still fully charged. I'm impressed.

I've noticed more and more of these things showing up at stores. Costco has one and it looks pretty skookum.

I have one of these

Quick Cable: Rescue 900

at home, but it is pretty big and heavy. These little guys with lithium ion batteries are uber light and portable.

https://www.kmstools.com/neiko-porta...-starter-96838

The device in the video below is the exact same same thing, but a different brand (Australia?)

I just wanted the extensions and the nice case, lol.

Yesterday, there were two full cases of the stuff. Today, only 8. Only at the Richmond Home Depot. Take note of UPC code. Other locations may match the price. I bought three just because I could. The case has spare slots for the Milwaukee Quik Lok extensions and hex shank drill bits I have........... yes, I am a Milwaukee fan boi.

The original price is $29.95, not the $24.98 price they have on label. The $24.98 price is the sale price, LOL. So basically half price.

Actually, I was going to buy all of it and share the finding with you guys, but I don't love you guys that much, hee hee, hue hue, pew pew..........

I was there again on Friday. Only two left. They were mixed in with another set. I picked them out and hid them behind one of the other boxes on the shelf. Remember to show them the pic as they scan as regular price. All is not lost because they had a smaller set on sale for 8 or 9 bucks. Not a great deal, but a sale is a sale. Good luck!

As a side note, the Milwaukee factory repair store next to Market Crossing Shopping Centre (Byrne Rd. area) had the same set for 35 bucks. For those who are into Milwaukee tools, you have to see this place. Wall to wall, floor to ceiling, nothing but Milwaukee, products. I took my Milwaukee M18 flood light there for warranty repair. The thing still works, but the switch was acting up. No receipt needed. They look up the serial number and can tell how old it is. The light sells anywhere from $99.00 to $149.00 ($279.00 at Acklands Grainger, LOL). Well, dude tells me, "We don't repair those things. We just give you a new one." NICE!!!!

The factory repair location, by the way, is having their sale today (Saturday). Not great prices, because they only have their reconditioned products on sale that are already reduced ever so slightly. I wouldn't get anything as the warranty is only good for a year as opposed to five years. But............. it's an excuse to see the place.

One more item of note. The newer 18 volt drills and drill/drivers (select models) come with these neat little bit holders that are screwed onto the bottom of the handle. Because these guys are a parts and repair facility, you can buy these bit holders/clips individually. They're like under a buck - actually two, because the fricken screw and lock washer that you need costs just as much as the bit holder. I bought a pair and they fit my older models! Now going back one day to install them on the side where the belt clip is. I'd rather have bit holders than the belt clip that I rarely use.

Oh, Home Depot in Burnaby on Henning Drive had Milwaukee fastback knives on sale about a week ago. Two pack, which I've never seen anywhere else were less than the price of a single. Probably gone by now. I don't know how they sell some stuff this low. Clear out price or overstock, I guess. The knife itself is very popular, so not sure why.

Nice review on Milwaukee Fastback knives and their features........

Looks like Grip Rite in Canada is gone and KMS Tools took over their inventory. Probably 10 cents on the dollar. Anyway, if you're looking for fasteners, they have up to 70% off screws, nails, bolts, etc. Most are 50% off. Boxes and boxes of the stuff. For example, I purchased a box of 8 x 2-1/2 inch, green construction screws with T-20 head for 25 bucks. 2500 count box.
