Can you believe it has been two years
now? It's pretty amazing how far we've come. From the
EZboard days (to the progression to UBB and eventually VBB),
we've constantly strived to improve the website and
judging from the increased hits and registrations, we can
pretty much say we've done some good around here. As well,
REVscene.net tries to improve the local community by
conducting talks with law enforcement agencies and getting
out in the media to try and change the perception of
modified cars in the community. We're not all street
racers determined to race down a busy city street looking
to kill people. Through all of these things we've come to
this years birthday cruise and what an event it was.
We had set two rally points for the meet to originate. One
at Langara and the other at SFU. Both locations had a good
turn out but the full group was not together until we hit
the PNE parking lot. At PNE, both groups converged as well
as a bunch of stragglers that decided that meeting
anywhere else wasn't worth their time. It was still great
to see the quality of cars has changed from 2 years ago as
well. Some of the best cars showed up for this one.
Martini even drove up from Bellingham to be a part of the
celebration. It was great to see PDM Racing, ZeroFour, the
RX-7 group, and a lot of old school members out for this
event.
All in all, I counted over 70 cars at the Murrin Park.
Thinking back, the best part of RS meets is seeing the old
members coming out and meeting the newer members. This
years meet showed us (the admin) what kind of members we
have--loyal and faithful. Despite all the drama and server
problems that had been happening, you all still managed to
make it out and stick with REVscene.net. We thank you
greatly for that and providing you with a surprise FREE
lunch was the least we could do for you all at the time.
Thank you again and I REALLY hope to see you all at next
year's birthday meet.
