All I gotta say about this meet is WOW.
A record 300+ Cars made their way down to Spanish banks to
get the 2004 season underway. Some escorted by the
police Pacer program while others made their way down in
their respective groups. It seemed like every import
enthusiast came down to get the car mod juices going.
It was an unbelievable sight to see the VPD help direct
cars into the lot at Spanish Banks and to watch us
completely fill the huge lot there.
What was just supposed to be a small meet to get people to
clean the dust from their cars turned into a near import
show itself. And the best part about it was that it was
free to all of you. No outrageous door prices, no
fee's to pay to enter, just a fun day at the beach with
over 700 fellow import enthusiasts in attendance.
Revscene would especially like to thank Spiker, a police
officer with the Pacer program, who arranged for groups to
get the presidential treatment on their way to the meet.
Groups at Langara, and BCIT both recieved a police escort
that resulted in an amazing experience for those in each
group.
Cars just kept pouring in and filled the large lot in less
than a half hour. We even had an overflow into the
surrounding parking areas. A sunny day, combined
with a month of advertising and great participation from
the local clubs and sponsors made this meet the most
memorable since Revscene was created in 2000.
Special thanks goes out to The VPD/Pacer program as we
mentioned above, our sponsor shops, Teamworks, MF
Development, AK Autoworks, A&J Racing and Boyz Club Car
Audio and Security, that took the time out to come
and represent. The same props goes out to all the
clubs out there that arrived and showed they each had some
club spirit. Thank you to ClubRSX, Team Celica,
ClubIntegra, Vancouver Civics, The Mazda club, I-Club and
any other club i might have missed. It was a hectic
day and I might have missed one or two of you out there.
Thanks again to all that attended. Look forward to
the Annual Revscene.net Summer BBQ and Cruise. This
time rather than just parking and checking out cars, you
can have a nice drive in the sunny weather as well as some
good food and lots of new friends.
See you all out there.
