I Remember when I first saw this car at a meet.
Figured it wasn't anything too special. Just your
everyday kinda Civic. As I began looking over it I found
that it was far from just your normal everyday run of the
mill Civic. First things that grab your eyes are the
Spoon Sports calipers and the Buddy Club wheels. You
see, it's not everyday you see a Civic with Spoon
Calipers. Then I meet the owner. I ask what he had
running under the hood and he proudly pops the hood to
show the JDM B16 engine sitting in the engine bay.
As I proceeded to drool, I was even more impressed to find
out that he did most of the work himself. It's a
very rare thing these days to find someone who builds a
car on their own. From this point on I knew this
would be a perfect featured car for Revscene. Here's
the interview with Clayton and the history of his ride.
RS: Why did you choose the set up you did?
CP:
I've been modding Civics since 97 and tried various
combinations of
motors
and cars, but I always wanted to build a "JDM" style 96-00
Civic since
early
98 when I first went to A&J Racing and saw Ben Leung's
"Gunmetal" 96
Civic.
RS: Did you do any of the work yourself?
CP:
I did the majority of the work myself including various
engine and
suspension swaps.
RS: What was the hardest part of the project?
CP:
The hardest part of the project was sourcing a lot of the
rare and
discontinued parts to make my project complete
RS: Why did you choose the parts you did?
CP:
I felt the parts that I choose were the best parts for
building an "all
round" street/track/show car
RS: What would be the next project car?
CP:
My next project will be a "euro" style VR6 Turbo'd GTI...
Currently
already
in the works.
RS: Shout outs and thanks go to.....
