Split-off from the *Spotted thread*

Hmm...do you remember where you got that interview by chance? I'd like to take a look at it. So far all the Scientific evidence by what's been shown in the paper and economy magazines (there's one at the local coffee shop) shows the science backing to be extremely false.

I really, really did enjoy the movie, the Tornado scene was my absolute favorite destruction scene in any movie that I can really remember. The whole montra of the plot I found sad, after all, Mr. Weather Science Man states everyone in Ohio and above to move south of the border, meanwhile he's going to the worst spot in North America to save his son. And what about the supporting cast? Amazing how they all survive pretty much. Even that cancer ridden kid.

Taken from Ebert:
"When cataclysmic events shred uncounted lives but the movie zeroes in on only a few people, of course they survive, although some supporting characters may have to be sacrificed. What's amusing in movies like "The Day After Tomorrow" is the way the screenplay veers from the annihilation of subcontinents to whether Sam should tell Laura he loves her."

That being said, I still liked how LA was ripped apart

I've read interviews with scientists who say the movie was very well done in the fact that the reasons for what happened in the movie could actually happen (one in a billion chance, but their reasons for it happening are real). I thought for an action movie, it had a great mix of awesome effects, good story, good acting, without much chessyness.

One of the most enjoyable movies I've seen in a long time. It's just one of those movies you can sit back and really enjoy.

someone came up to me yesterday when i was getting in my car and said "Man, that is an awesome Supra! It's all tricked out and everything, I love it!"

Haha, people always ask what I have... for some reason, most people think it's a Stealth or RX-7. Comes in handy getting parking tickets. "Umm... don't think this ticket was for me... says I drive an dodge stealth..."

A guy sporting a ski mask bursts into a sperm bank with a shotgun. "Open the fucking safe" he yells at the girl behind the counter. "But we're not a real bank" she replies, "we don't have any money, this is a sperm bank". "Don't argue, open the fucking safe or I'll blow your head off" says the guy with the gun.
She obliges and once she's opened the safe door the guy says "Take out one of the bottles and drink it."
"But it's full of sperm" she replies nervously. "Don't argue, just drink it" he says. She prises the cap off and gulps it down. "Take out another one and drink it too" he demands. She takes out another and drinks it as well.
Suddenly the guy pulls off the ski mask and to the girl's amazement it's her husband.
"There," he says "it's not that fucking difficult is it ?"
