yah someone posted that picture on the scirocco mailing list and alot of people were as confused as you guys
anyways turns out that its a lt1 camero i guess. the turbo is set up just like any other turbo except the piping is way longer obviously.. there is no intercooler the guy says the length of pipe from the compresser to the intake mani. cools the air enough and i think said it was more effitiant than an IC.. umm sure buddy... anyways he also says with JUST that set up (no other engine mods what-so-ever) he can knock his 14 sec. qaurtermile time down to 10 seconds with suffictiant boost. i dont see how it will produce enough boost quick enough and when it does iam sure that motor wont last too long..
he is developed and is selling this setup somewhere down in kentucky or some redneck state.. he also mentioned that some head guy from Turbonetics or somethign came to check it out and said that car with that set up was one of the fastest hes ever ridden in.. haha rrrright one of the main guys from a turbocharger manufacturer hasnt ridden in a faster car i think most of what he said was bullshit forsure
how i know all this you ask? hah someone else from the list found a link to a F body forum that had all this from the guy who made it i guess.. ill see if i can find the link again and post it up so you guys can read it
i still think its a dumb and uneffeciant idea tho..

ok it came from ufba.org but seems that the thread has been deleted or closed or soemthing all of a sudden
here is a quote from that thread tho...
"Prototype is black '93 Z28 with purple flames on front. Sounds like
alot of you have seen or heard of the car. Car was at UVSC carshow
along with a few of our trucks. Turbo mounts in rear on all our
vehicles which raises some eyebrows and always draws in a few sceptics.
Our system works real well and has several benefits that come from
putting the turbo that far back. First is that this kit installs in
about 2 hours and anybody can put it on without hacking up your ride.
Second is that our turbo temps are about 500 F cooler than those on
underhood applications and that means less heat put into the air charge
and lower underhood temps. Plumbing charge to the front provides a very
efficient intercooler without the typical pressure drop accross
conventional intercoolers, Won't go into the rest right now. Prototype
did pick up 14 mph in quarter mile and car ran 13.0 at this elevation at
111 mph with moderate 7 psi on street tires w/ 2.73 gears and automatic
(car is totally stock other than our system). Engineer from Garrett
came up last week to check out our systems and was very impressed with
all aspects of the kits. Said our Camaro was one of the fastest cars
he'd ridden in. Everyone is concerned about turbo lag with turbo so far
back. Not the case, our system is designed to operate with turbo in
this position and has hardly any lag. Will break the tires loose at
about 40 mph. Have car set up to run 10 psi w/ water injection at the
flip of a switch. Did dip into 12's but mostly just spins tires real
bad. Just got some drag radials and ordering set of 3.73's w/ converter
and shift kit. Car should hit 11's easy. Anyone interested is welcome
to come by the shop. We are in Orem. "

what a joke.. thats gotta be the laggiest turbo setup around.. also, what do they do about the oil drainback line.. which is usually done by a gravity drain... when the oil drainback is under pressure or restricted like that.. its bound to start making the turbo leak oil into the air intake.. good and healthy
also.. i'm sure that the turbo is getting such a great amount of oil pressure all the way back there running off a stock oil pump.. its bound to get fried quickly with that problem as well

So I was working up at executives for the Hip-hop show/free style battle/open Mike. Two guy start having words beyond the Microphones on stage (one is the main host, the other, no clue). We get that cleared up. The same guys start at it again, this time, one of 'em pops the other's hat off, let's call the hat popper (the host)#1 and the other #2. #2 rips the chain off #1 and they start trading blows, I grab #1 get him the fuck out of there, turn around and see #2 getting pummeled. I toss #1 at one of the other bouncers and pull some dude off #2, who is all bloddy by now, we take him outside. Done....right? No. #2 has a friend who's still inside (#3 ). He decides to start swinging at #1, so I get up there and toss #1 off to the side, and take #3 down to the ground...fine...again, no. #3 has a girlfriend, she starts screaming at me, and hitting me, I tell her to fuck off and let me do my job. She doesn't, so I toss #3 at another bouncer, grab the girfriend and start moving her towards the door, girlfriends bitchy friend decides to get in on the fun saying I smoked the girlfriend, no, I grabbed the little hooch and thats all, they'll have none of it, girlfriend smokes me a couple more times, this is getting annoying, so I toss her out the door, bitchy friend is close behind.

To continue...
I go back to my spot and not 2 minutes later, the girls are back inside (through the front door???) And have opened the back door and let #3 and a bunch of friends through. Everyone spots trouble, after a lot of beaking from bitchy friend. Bouncers swarm, and bitchy friend gets tackled out the door by some other skinny girl (it was pretty sweet to see, bitchy friend is around 200 pounds, skinny girl maybe a buck-o-five). After that we finally get everyone outside...shut the place down, and done...for now
So basically for helping a friend (owner of executives), I get a bruised face, somewhere along the line I massively scraped up my ankle, some people think I hit girls (which I would NEVER do, i just man-handle them a bit ), I got someone's blood all over my shirt, and I wasn't in the mood to drink beer...which really sucked cuz it was free.
Moral of the story, I had FUN!!! God I miss bouncing
