Thats far from what happened but whatever too long of a story. pretty crazy either way especially when the guy crawled out of the truck and took off on foot leaving the 2 ppl pinned and bleading in the car.

whoa that's fucked... i've heard of a situation like that with a cop... was first on the scene, and it was his dead in the car, and she was dead.

good to hear she's alright.

My mom and I were talking about this, because my dad was a firefighter and a policeman. I could never imagine having my dad be on scene if I was in an accident.

ugh...worked 10 hrs yesterday and 12.25 today....it's gonna be a looong week...but the $$$ will be nice...

say...anything over 40 hrs is overtime, right? 'cuz I'll have CRAZY overtime this week (couple hrs each day) and by day 4 I should reach 40 hrs and I'm working 6 days...so day 5 and 6 should be completely OT, right?

Overtime wages for employees not working under an averaging agreement
40 (1) An employer must pay an employee who works over 8 hours a day, and is not working under an averaging agreement under section 37,

(a) 1 1/2 times the employee’s regular wage for the time over 8 hours, and

(b) double the employee’s regular wage for any time over 12 hours.

(2) An employer must pay an employee who works over 40 hours a week, and is not working under an averaging agreement under section 37, 1 1/2 times the employee’s regular wage for the time over 40 hours.

(3) For the purpose of calculating weekly overtime under subsection (2), only the first 8 hours worked by an employee in each day are counted, no matter how long the employee works on any day of the week.

(4) [Repealed 2002-42-19.]

damn....so technically if I work 5 10 hr days I only get 2 hrs/day overtime? but won't qualify for the over 40/week OT?

I'm making that assumption.

Got it from here.

well this is interesting....I've quit two jobs (3 weeks ago) and I still haven't gotten paid for them

(2) An employer must pay all wages owing to an employee within 6 days after the employee terminates the employment.

time for legal action? grrrr....for a measly 100 bucks between the two of them lol

Edit: thanks for the link

they recently (maybe it was back in 02) redid the overtime payment system. it doesnt make a whole lot of sence anymore.

before, you used to get OT after 8 hours a day, or 40 hours a week. if you worked 40 hours in 2 days, you get paid OT for the rest of the week.

on the other hand, i dont get paid any over time, ever. no matter how much i work.

I believe it was in 2002, cause it was really simple before, then I got the new regulations from my employer when they changed, and it took me a while to sit, read the whole thing and wrap my brain around it. It's WAY too technical for something that's essential for employees to understand....and tamas working that many hours is nothing, I did 12 hour days with every second weekend off all summer, lol. Where do you work by the way, I don't think I caught that in the other posts.

I wish it was still the old system....oh well...this way day 6 will STILL be OT all day...and I still rack up a couple hrs of OT every day....this means the front of the truck will get slammed reaaaaaaaaally soon

So i watched wedding crashers today, there's a scene where they're walking through a forest, all wearing cammo of some sort, then they go to a wide shot and there's a guy in like a blue shirt hiding behind a tree on the right side of the screen...damn editors.
