underscore 10-03-2007 06:38 PM

so some buddy in a green civic hatch pulls up next to me at a light, holds his revs up a bit, I'm like ok whatever the Celi is running kinda funny right now. Light hits green, he takes off, sounded like it was V-TEC'd and modded, very high whine and pretty quick. then he shifted and holy blue smoke Batman. I laughed so hard, especially when he did it again at the next light.

that made up for Staples not having the sweet flashdrive I wanted to buy :(

hupcaps, stock exhaust? super whine?

sounds to me like you got sleeper'd by a $1500 civic
bwahahah

underscore 10-03-2007 06:53 PM

yeah completely stock on the outside, clean paint and body, typical older Civic green, the 92-95 bodystyle I think is the range.

and yes SUPER whine. like the guy had an anti-resonator or something. was pretty sweet except for the gross smoke. what engine is in it? whole car for built for $1500? damnit Jeff you might make me a Honda boy yet haha.

supercharged 1.6 sohc vtec motor (whine). he bought the car for 1500 then we put in the super and advance design race valved coilovers, with an ASR 32mm swaybar system. then he bought craigs old OZ wheels with race tires. the whole package works really well
i think that build is at $5500 at this point.

girlcrazy_420 10-03-2007 08:02 PM

Spent the past 3 days car shopping and still havnt found very much. Narrowed out the Suburban due to horrible gas milage and its a little big for a city DD, Bronco with the 351... as Nice of a truck that this is, I'm a little short. Soo... in regards to what is available; Support a Supra powered rwd Cressidia, Explorer, or get a fullsize?

that's a killer price even for a just a shell that clean. if it wasn't for the smoke I'd want it haha.

Impulse I'd go for the Cressidia. Exploders are, well, exploders.

so a little bird told me icbc and rcmp are doing a drinking and driving/seatbelt check blitz this weekend, so be on your best behaviour everyone

apparently the whole country is going into heavy-enforcement mode. At least it isn't too cold to walk yet :)

and I typically consider big puffs of blue smoke while shifting to be a bad thing, maybe it's good for Honda's what do I know.

racer__X__33 10-04-2007 11:16 AM

...haha..i dunno about good...but bossi's car is legit and it smokes...and smoked you...whats the biggie? its fast...form/function..his shit works...might not be so showy...but whatev

underscore 10-04-2007 11:39 AM

haha I never raced him ;). though I'm pretty sure he would beat me, give me a grand more to even up the build cost and we might have a decent race here haha.

I have no problems with his car, like you said it's fast and not showy, much better than the rusted out Civics rolling around with fart cannons. I'm just saying blowing blue smoke is usually bad ;), still a damn nice car.

i hear, you revved and took off hard, so next light he pwned you while his 250lb friend gave you the miata wave from the passenger seat.
some motors dont like 10 lbs of aftermarket boost being thrown at them so they burn a little. i know my integra burns a tad and gregs civic does too. they all rip ass tho so what does it matter?

Delerious 10-04-2007 03:33 PM

it doesn't matter... at least not until you see the BIG puff of blue smoke...

the big puff of blue from them getting smokeddddddd...woot...

and yeah..i kinda expected that fron underscore...he launched every light when i was driving behind him one day

underscore 10-04-2007 09:21 PM

haha yeah greg I did, but does it even count as launching when it's a car as slow as mine? right now my car's having some minor charging issues, my alt isn't quite cutting it when I run my amps full power so I'm keeping the volume low til I can afford a new one in the spring, and after I start driving I hold my revs up at lights for the first bit cause I've had it drop to painfully low revs on me.

doesn't matter though cause it was sweet to see that thing take off, the guy behind me had a look of what the hell on his face haha.

and Jeff thanks again for more handy tidbits of info, I'm new to learning about completely aftermarket boost setups.

underscore 10-05-2007 05:01 PM

alright so I have a friend with a 94 Integra GSR, pretty sure his tranny is going so I'm wondering if anyone here has any connections as far as finding him a new used one. He's trying to keep it from getting too expensive being a broke student like myself.

edit: sorry, GSR
