Probably the dream foundation or whichever it is. For every $1 they sell, they donate it to a charity or something. Its a popular event and I think it happens twice a year.

I think I may have to put the dog down soon, somewhat sad because she's come so far since we got her last year. She cam from an abusive household, finished training her, dog school etc etc and now just recently she's turned against everyone but us. She wont allow other people on or near our property. Period. She attacked the bus driver the other day when my mom had her, and today I had a friend over whom I warned prior, Introduced the two and the dog still lunged at him a few times before finally being tied up. She's very well behaived other than that, dosnt growl at the family or anything; but goes phycotic otherwise. People say its the breed, I think it was how she was brought up. She's a big female, pretty buff for a dog. Purebread Boxer... The trainer thinks it may be because the brain is outgrowing her head and pinching a nerve causing her to over-react. Her next little freak-out looks like she is going to be put down. We got her last year since my purebread had a tumor in her kidneys and she got put down, this was supposed to have been the replacement. If we put her down, all it leaves us with is the Pup

the problem you are having is a dominance, territory problem with your dog.

your dog is acting out like this because you are allowing it to. there is obviously no leaders to your dog.

in your dogs mind he is number one, followed by the family so he has no choice but to how to act like a dog in the wild and defend its territory. thats how "pack leaders" act in the wild.

now if you trained the dog properly you would show the dog YOU are the pack leader, than the family and the dog is the follower.

dogs are born to follow or to lead, its your choice to train it to do which one.

bread has nothing to do with it really, it maybe be harder on some than others. but dogs want to be in a balanced state and when there are no rules or proper training you are not fulfiling the dogs needs as an animal.

dogs dont care what happend to them in the past, they live in the moment and dont seek depression like people do. they dont rationalize.

and dog training to sit/ lay down etc is for show. it really doesnt teach the dog you are in control unless you KNOW and the dog knows you are in control and thats something 99% of the people that train there dogs dont know how to do.

research and learn and be your dogs leader and give it exercise, boundaries and consequences.

and as far as your trainer goes i think he has no idea what he is talking about.

with my job i goto many peoples houses and see at least anywhere from 1-4 dogs a day and i see first hand how the owner handles the dog and how the dog reacts. 90% of the dogs i see act like your dog and the owner just has no idea what to do and the dog doesnt listen to the owner because the dog is the OWNER of the house.

i have seen maybe a handful of people that actually know how to control there dogs and with body language and tone of voice the dog just abides to there owner.

and there are also alot of dogs that are just naturally submissive that just follow and behave but there are alot more dogs that are leaders rather than followers.

so i think you have 2 choices.

start researching, read books on being pack leaders

or

give your dog to the spca.

dont kill an animal because your family has no idea what its doing.
