i have tried samosa garden and the new salads at whitespot, good stuff mmmm |
i went to Kobe steak house yesterday night with my gf.. for our 2 year anni... the food was not bad...i haven't been to a teppanyaki place in so long......for those that dunno.. teppanyaki is those places where they COOOOOK in front of you... and do tricks.... i recommend it to those who don't like to get their hands dirty while eating... everything is chopped up into bite size peices... the portions were very generous... i was too stuffed to have gelato afterwards !!! hahaha price varies between 30 bucks to 60 bucks a person... we had the kobe special.. which was lobster tails and steak... =) the meal comes with a bowl of rice, soup, veggies, different sauces for different food, some green tea.... =) they also give you like 30ish bucks off with an entertainment card.. =) um.. for the single hamsup guys out there.. they have some hot white chicks as hostesses.... u may find them to your liking.... but as for me... i have a gf.. =P hahahaa... and she reads the boards.. lol ! |
Octopus Garden.... i believe delslow's friend opened it up... but um... it's been around for ages.. and i haven't been there till yesterday night =) service was awesome.. very friendly... and the server tells u exactly what is on ur plate... hot sake was served over a candle.. in a clay bottle.. presentation was nice.. i had the ahi tuna... grilled in front of you in a hot pan.... over a sweet soy sauce... also had um.. gyoza.... and um.. deep fried sushi roll... all in all.. it was quite good .. =) at the end.. they give u gummi candy in a shape of an octopus... very nice =) |

you can use the coupon card in the entertainment book that comes out every year. not sure the exact address of kobe steakhouse but it's near the lv store and right in front of the other coach store not the one on granville. just google kobe steakhouse! haha ; ) |
it's on alberni and burrard. i worked there a couple of years ago, and i must say that the food is definately not worth it. but you're basically paying for the show. make sure you ask the hostess for the 'more' entertaining chefs. some of them will do a little extra for you entertainment wise. besides the food, it's a good experience, and plenty of eye candy. ;) |

PRIMA TASTE its located on robson close to H mart near seymour street. Food is delicious and the laksa is to die for. Everything I had tasted great except for the hainese chicken.. it was mediocre.. haha ! =D chicken skewers with peanut sauce 9/10 laksa 10/10 hainesese chicken 7/10 deep fried banana with vanilla icecream... 9/10.. they gave alot of bananas =-) all in all.. the above cost around 35 bucks tax and tip included =) very good meal ! |
Alpha Lounge on ... Richards and Helmcken? Little tucked away Japanese Izakaya restaurant... friend and I ordered a cheap jug and gorged on yummy sushi and tapas that were very decently priced. Smaller place but I really liked the atmosphere and very friendly staff. Will definitely go again. 8.5/10 |
"may's vietnamese cuisine" on no.3 road located between rush internet cafe and netaholics internet cafe, vietnamese food like no other in vancouver/richmond |
"Pho Vinh" extraordinary quality in vietnamese food. Their entire menu is quite delicious, along with their pho and other specialty dishes they have to offer, I am quite eager to try out the rest of their dishes. Parking is easy to find, friendly customer service and a very clean place (compared to other vietnamese restaurants in the city) to dine in Surrey. Located in Surrey, T&T Supermarket or Bubbleworld on 152nd Street. Must try if you're looking for a great meal! |
little cattle hot pot in richmond. not bad for an all you can eat hot pot & pretty nice environment. |

I went to Cactus Club on Broadway near Cambie. And Rob Feenie has redone some items on their menu. You guys have to try the Cheddar Burger and the Beef Short Rib dip! Those are amazing...plus their fries is the best ever! Also if you people partying downtown, there is a chinese restaurant on the corner of Granville Street & Davie Street. Some Hung Tsiang Village or something like that. They have a big countainer for BBQ Pork for $5.95, best BBQ Pork I ever had! So tender and juicy! Amazing...so is their peking duck course for $11! Prices are like WHOA...but food like WOW! Try it! |
Kakurenbou on Jervis just north of Robson. Coworker told me his buddy's dad did the interior decor so I decided to check it out. It's behind Fogg + Suds, and unless u look for it chances are you'll walk right by and not know it exists. Interior decor reminds me a lot of Chopstick Cafe (ie Imperial Japanese-themed) on Yaletown. Because it's quite low-key, the place had NO lineup, even on a Saturday night. Good for a nice quiet date :) My guests had the freshly squeezed OJ drink, they literally give you half an orange with a dish to squish the orange into! I thought it was entertaining but my friend was not so impressed, she didn't like literally having to work for her drink. Can still taste the food, damn. Chopped octopus salad was the shiz. So was the udon. Had about 6 dishes; every single one was very good. (mind you I do have rather low food taste though ;)) The best part though was the dessert. Had the raspberry granite. omg that thing is to die for. Dinner for 3 came to $75 after tax before tip. Very reasonable, and service was great. I'm gonna come back with more friends. |
Went to Don Francesco on Burrard for lunch today, as it's near my work and I haven't been before. I had the mushroom soup which was OK but nothing special. The veal scallopini, however, was excellent, and one could tell they used decent wine for the sauce (needed more truffle as it wasn't as prominent as should have been for an ingredient that was listed, but that's a minor complaint). For dessert I had a creme brulee which was pretty good, but I can make better at home. The espresso was so so. Their cognac prices are standard, $22 for Hennessy X.O and $150 for the Louis XIII (only had the former as I can't afford a shot for 3 digits LOL). Before tip it came to around $75 for me, which is a bit high for a lunch menu... Three stars out of four, including a small bonus that they changed the music from Aznavour (French singing in Italian restaurant? LOL WTF) when I requested it. |
