w00t...the Jetta got its first oil change...Pennzoil full synth (usually use Mobil1, but I got 4.4L of Pennz for 20 bucks) and K&N filter...also detailed the engine a little while waiting for the oil to drain...

yesterday I picked up some side carpeting for the trunk (my car came with this stupid plasticish-foam stuff)...will probably throw that in tomorrow

Its a mazworx roll bar custom for the s13. The hoop come pre fabbed and the rear tubes are pre notched. Waiting to install the door bars until I decide on what seats I'm gonna put in.

Is that mild steel in the 240? Did you see how much it weighed before you put it in? Kinda curious. Are you doing swing out door bars?

The tubing is DOM .120 wall mild steel, and the door bars will be solid welded.

busy week for me mike and danny
96 grand cherokee 4.0 into my 92 (96 has mo powa and my 92 was cooked)
good used auto transmission
water pump, 2 fuel injectors, starter
got exhaust mani crack welded
all new fluids
tucked exhaust higher up and danny welded all the holes in it closed for me
converted hard lines for trany cooler to soft lines (hard lines fail)

stick to the imports guys, this was the most painful swap i have ever had the displeasure of being a part of

at the end of it all, the tranny shifts like butter, the motor has way more power and runs quieter and the exaust doesnt have a single leak
and the engine bay doesnt resemble the aftermath of the exxon valdeez accident

we didnt get pics, it was way to painful of an experience
tomorrow i go to whipsaw to do a 200-400km trail drive over a mountain with a bunch of guys ive never met in person weeeee

I was hoping it would've been just like a b series honda swap... no dice.. jeeps are disasters for swaps, every other bolt is either metric or imperial.. sometimes on either end of a nut/bolt. That and the fact that somewhere along the lines we heard that the grand cherokee motor would "bolt right in". I think we swapped everything except the block and head once we were all done with it, not knowing it had to be done until things didn't line up or didn't plug in.

i modded one of my valve cover bolts into an open spark plug hole... luckily it was bigger than the plug hole or i'd be really angry. don't work on cars drunk.

threw a 520 chain on the bike a couple days ago and dropped a tooth in the front and added 2 in the rear shorten up the gearing again. the 520 chain is 33% lighter than the old 525 size chain not to mention going from a steel to hardened aluminum sprocket. and to add some blang blang i got a black rear sprocket and GOLD chain

now im toying with the idea of getting my swingarm and engine covers powder coated black, and painting the rest of the pieces that are silver on the bike to black aswell

Finally did the roll in bedliner today, after putting it off for 4 months. It wasn't all that terrible to do either! It turned out surprisingly well with a decent texture, and it only cost me 1/10th of what Line-X would've charged. Pics to follow.
