old. i really liked how this pic turned out...
new. in this one it was really sunny out.
i dun like how there was too much sunlight shining on the lower-left corner.
is there a way to take the pic with sun shining on it, yet keeping the color of the car sharp?
thanks

If you have an exposure button, lock it on the rear, then focus on the front, then press down your shutter button. Note though, that the front will be darker than in the picture you took previously. The camera was trying to expose for the front of the car which was in the shadow. In doing so it overexposed the rear.
^ In a nutshell.

What MikesJo said is correct. However, it should be said that if you exposed for the rear of the car, the front would be very dark and you probably still wouldnt be happy with it. The trick is to angle the car so the sun is facing the sides of the car that you are shooting (or only the sides that are away, for a different look.
Alternatively, in this situation a reflector or a flash would light the front of the car more which would then lessen the difference between the front and back.
It doesnt matter how dark or light out it is, it's possible to expose it properly. However, the object is to light it as EVENLY as possible.

ha ha, that was the sunday afternoon show then, thats what I thought, I think I was just over to your left. I didn't get there early enough to stand near the fence, so I didn't take many shots, I tried a couple during the burnouts but I did those over my head with the swivel screen =)
