Don't know why I even bothered learning that when I went to Hong Kong. People look at me and know I don't speak Cantonese

Nice 240! Those shots are great! They look like catalog shots or something! How'd you accomplish those shots? Whats the setup and all that?

I'm not that great a automotive photographer, but i did some rolling shots today. Hanging out the window, hand held of course. 5DII + 17-40.

Comments n such?

Would a lens that has IS help much here? I wished my shots were sharper.

boostslut, that depends on how fast you were going and what your shutter speed was. I dont think IS is necessary for rolling shots (at least I've never needed it).

I'd maybe bump of the blacks or a little more contrast. The photos seem kinda "washed out". I would also recommend shooting with the sun rather than against it to avoid that big shadow

hey man, jon is my buddy so i had to play with your photos in photoshop.

to make the images sharper, i would have used a slightly more shutter speed more fstop and maybe less iso (if you had it up high)

on to the photoshops!

Jon, you car is to sexy for your own good.... :P

i really love the shots man, i only wish i could get some rolling photos under my belt.

Thanks for doing that man! Looks good to me! I'll remember this when i'm doing my editing. Mucho's better! It was a fun day with all that came forsure.

I wasn't shooting at high iso's at all. Mostly at 100iso. Maybe a bit of editing that i did brought out the noise in the photo. What shutter speed is most suitable? The sun is again quite tough. From the side of the car that i was shooting from i did my best. Shadows are a pain, and i wish i could have been on the other side where the sun was shining in all its glory!

to be honest, im not to sure on the shutter. you would have to play with it while driving. in my mind (im no pro so take this with a grain of salt) you want the highest shutter possible while still getting a blur on the wheels.
as for the shadows, idk man i love them. it brings out detail that you wouldnt get with a direct light on the side of the car. from what ive read, going out at dusk or dawn will make the best light for automotive photos.

Interesting is right. Its not my personal taste, but the owner bought it like that. Its a really quick car, and quite unique. The owners a very nice guy tho!

To me, it's got this summer Oakanagan interior drive feel, even though it's actually taken in Richmond.
