You guys should check out IKEA in coquitlam. I took some rig photos there yesterday. Whole back lot is empty. Although its kind of dark in some areas. Might be good for flash photography and stuff. I dunno.

Here's my friends Evo 8. I dunno how I feel about. I think I could do better. It was so bright that day even though I used a ND16. I need like ND100 lol.

And I think one of my suction cups is broken as its leaking some type of fluid? :S I used that think like 5 times and its like 3 months old

Your editing is improving
IKEA is a great idea if it rains. Especially if we're testing out lighting and stuff.

Coming from you that's like... whoa.. thanks! Mean's a lot.
Teach me Obi-Wan!

I still need tokina 11-16 cause my camera is so heavy with my 18-200mm and the boom starts to bend by the time I mount the camera on. I get so freaked out thinking the rig is going to fall on the owners car then I'm screwed! :S
I'm going to check is Home Depot has slighter smaller tubes. Stick it into the larger and bolt them together. Should be stiffer in theory.

That's a wicked photo! I was going to take a very similar photo but at the casino in Coquitlam. Right in front there are about 6-10 cherry blossom trees and the building looks fairly neat as well. You guys should check it out!

Im flattered, but you give me wayy to much credit!

The Tokina is REALLY HEAVY. Lol. Just a heads up so youre not surprised. =P

I went with a 2 1/8" OD. HUGE OD and it seems to be VERY stiff.

Sweet location. I think a CPL to block off some reflections woulda been perfect though.

Are you serious?!?!? ah man. Not only am I doing a weight reduction on my car I now I have to do it to my rig. jeez. Still.. wide angle lens would help immensely. Atleast I think it would.
Gonna hit up home depot and poke around tomorrow morning and try my rig shot I've been meaning to do for a while.
According to a few websites my 18-200mm is slightly heavier then the Tokina.

Dont bother upgrading the boom itself. Use a guy-wire system.

I spent $17 in parts for it but bought wayy too much. I think you can get away with spending $8 for the guywire system.

Hey guys,
I got some good cherry blossom photos with my car today, but I'm having difficulty editing the photos, simply because of lighting and because I'm still very new at this. I can edit the blossoms nice, but because of the shade, the green in my car is difficult to bring out and turns to gray.
Can you guys help with a basic editing tutorial if I post up smaller size raws?
Thanks in advance.

After a few days of finding places and shooting, this was probably my best shot, which is pretty average at best IMO

use a cingular polarizing filter next time, it will help eliminate the reflections on the car.
