Wow, there are some very nice photos in this thread.

Here are some of my recent pics with a Canon P&S Camera. I realize that I've got a long way to go, so any advice is greatly appreciated. :)

I think the picture with the BMW looks a bit crooked... The horizon is falling on the left and the car with it

I looked at that too, but the true horizon is the treeline in the back not the edge of the water, and it is curved but balanced I think.

Nice shots.

The first thing that jumps out at me is the white balance seems to be really badly off on those photos.

I'm not sure what kind of equipment you're using, but correcting that would make the colours "stand out" and look a lot more vibrant I think.

Mananetwork 06-04-2006 11:14 PM

fantastic colours, i just do'nt know why you made it look widescreen..??

random shot...

Mananetwork 06-06-2006 10:09 PM

good exposure, surprised the car turned out the exposure it did.. Natural ambient light?

BTW: I think it's to wide, cars starting to distort a bit

anyone wanna shoot my car in about a month?

dub.dub 06-07-2006 01:04 AM

u don't want to shoot ur own car? :o
and how come in a month?

lowside67 06-07-2006 07:16 AM

Heh I recognize that spot at Granville Island ;)

Mananetwork 06-07-2006 10:07 AM

is that blue rsx running bbs?

dub.dub 06-07-2006 10:49 AM

^ yup
can't remember if they were real or replicas tho

GFunk 06-07-2006 05:04 PM

real, i believe they're a custom set in terms of sizing. And in a month cause that's when my sides and rear go on, and I want someone else to shoot for two reasons:

1. To see another perspective of how someone else would shoot my car

2. so I can learn off them

chauhai85 06-07-2006 10:28 PM

woa pics of my car is on rs haha.
yes those BBS RX are authentic.
and i bet some of u think its kinda a waste putting those on a japanese car?..lol

dub.dub 06-07-2006 10:35 PM

damn waste man
give them to me :P

chauhai85 06-08-2006 08:45 AM

i'll sell them to someone if i could get a deal on volks ce28n =D

Jomo 06-08-2006 06:43 PM

Wow Kevin, good job exposing. Im surprised you were able to nail the car and the backdrop so well.

While I agree that the lens focal length appears to be distorting the car, it almost stylizes the image. I like the effect.

EDIT: As I know now that you'll be living in Vancouver this summer, you must post more or else I will find you, steal your photos and post them myself.

Mananetwork 06-10-2006 11:20 PM

Shot at 24mm + a zip pan at 1/50. I was trying to get a more dramatic look, but it turned out ok..
If you think it's out of focus your wrong.. The guy in the car is super sharp
