ckrieg: It looks like you added a bit of your own motionblur in PS :D
The front looks a bit out of focus while mid way through it looks solid. Next time give the car more room so you can show it going somewhere instead of trapping it in a 1x1 box *border*

aznboi128: Cars are sexy, you have to be basic and to the point. Curves, headlamps, rims, rear headlights, background distractions are a no no, 1/4 or 3/4 shots are always perfect for any side.

BTW: ckrieg and aznboi128, I left you both feedbacks on the last page

You're car is too low mana. It's nice though :). Do you still have to avoid speed bumps, haha.

I really like it Tom! The amazing colors in the leaves coupled with a really nicely exposed picture make what couldve been a really average snapshot into something pretty special.

What time of day did you shoot this?

yea, I did add some motion blur.

But you think I took those too close? I thought it was good that way, this way you see more of the car. But you think a crop not so close to the car would be better?

Here are a couple more without any added blur:

Another other feedback would be great! :)

With a tight crop you kind of restrict the car of movement even though your taking a panning shot.

Examples Andrew has some really good ones:

http://static.flickr.com/96/205843643_ec665d73d2_o.jpg
^^ Would of been nicer without the car in the background

See this one is constrained and I just can't feel the car in motion. My brain is telling me the car wants to go somewhere, but it's not!

I keep meaning to run them through photoshop to clean them up, but I'm too lazy.

Mana, of the three you posted of andrew's shots, I think the 1st and 3rd are best. The second one doesn't do much for me.

I was in a hurry or i'd run late for work

lowside67 10-26-2006 10:24 AM

None of those 3 of Andrew's shots really strike me as amazing. All 3 suffer from exposure issues, the TT shot is my favourite but that overexposed rear bumper that loses all detail kinda ruins it for me. I like the GTI shot but the shadow ruins it for me.

However his panning "technique" ie the sharpness of that GTI is really good!

i like the picture but it looks overexposed and washed out on paint

^^ SEE now that is a much better shot!!
Just that little space infront of the car gave it motion! GOod stuff!! I like the angle too

Edit BTW: Has your friend thought about getting spacers in the back? The front wheels are flushed, it would actually look better if the rears were too

Gopher 10-29-2006 01:44 PM

Great shot, the angle is just something that we really dont see often so it's super interesting to look at.

MikesJo 10-29-2006 04:02 PM

Nice shot there. What car were you shooting out of and were you actually looking through the view finder when shooting that? If not was it a car mount?

nice!!! how do u get a shot like that!?

Meowjin 10-30-2006 10:40 AM

Selftimer throw camera on tripod, and elevate it below the car while hanging out the trunk

MikesJo 10-30-2006 01:20 PM

Selftimer would take too long and not yield enough keepers imo.
