Finally made my way back home.

Picking up wife, son and in-laws today at YVR and it's hotpot night tonight for us.

And hopefully some lobsters if they weren't too expensive.

Otherwise, imitation lobster flavour balls. :fuckyea:

Too much food the past few weeks. Starting to feel the belt getting a bit tight and feel shirts are hard to move in.....

LightKeeper 12-24-2014 04:36 PM

Anyone not having chicken/turkey for dinner because of the recent outbreak of avian flu?

If you want good sedate christmas music for background listening, tune in to CBC. None of this yahoo stuff they play on QMFM.

^had friends over last night, we were playing rap with the tv muted during the orchestra to see when it would actually sync up

I would like to thank this thread for always reminding me to appreciate all the things I have and not to be a brat in life.

StylinRed 12-25-2014 03:11 PM

ugh dad started baking the goose at noon and he didn't make enough stuffing for it

so it's almost time to eat -_- we normally eat really L8 (9ish)

there's not enough stuffing! he does this everytime he cooks but then he gorges on the stuffing so there isn't enough for everyone

on top of that he didn't prep the steaks or lobster salad so the goose will be cold by the time those are ready!

merry xmas!

MG1 12-25-2014 03:13 PM

My wife outdid herself this christmas with a spatchcock turkey. Took very little time and the results were unbelievable. Best way to cook a turkey.

Roasted and baked veggies, yum. Brussel sprouts, yams, carrots, onions, and sweet potatoes. Two pans of stuffing. Yes, two mega large pans of the stuff (pun intended). Mother in law makes it with loads of bacon and shiitake mushrooms. Macaroni salad with loads of eggs, and my favourite, baked to perfection, spiral ham.

Who needs lobster?

One week later, New Years dinner. Osechi yrori. Where I make kick-ass futomaki for friends and family.

Turkey, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, homemade stuffing, roasted carrots, cabbage rolls, sweet & sour meatballs, corn, goat cheese/cranberry/pecan salad, parmesan green beans, veggie dip, blackforest cake, apple/pear/cranberry crisp, gulab jamun, sugar cookies, fruit punch, asahi beer, wine, scotch whisky

Still full :sweetjesus:
