god i love it when the 16 year olds who just started driving try to explain us the logic why they deserve to drive $30,000+ cars and not have people rag on them.

haha
I'd rather my parents hate me than love me and never teach me the value of a dollar.

you can never truly appreciate what it took to get that car. i spent 2 years working to the bone and cutting back my spending on everything to buy my car. i know the blood sweat and tears that went into affording it.

you will never understand that part of it until you save up and buy your own car instead of having mommy and daddy buy you a car. i know i never did when i drove my parents car
so? whats so big deal about it?
its his life, not urs

My parents bought me a beater car since they felt sorry for me because transit sucked, and I kept asking for rides. The only restriction is I had to cover the insurance and repairs/maintenance. I drove that awesome car for 8 years until I got my new car with my own money 2 years ago.

There's no respect here for little kids getting a nice new car with insurance from their parents, but I think you get the point by now

How about showing your parents some love back by saying thanks but no thanks, I`ll earn it myself. I think I am the only one I know who refused a $30k car from my parents. So give me a cookie

common guys...i dont see anything wrong with this
its about having the different standard...face it, you and the boxter kid live in a different world
his dad might drive a S600 while ur dad drives a Camry
they have different purchasing power!

driving a boxter-s at age 16 while his dad is a billionaire sounds alrite to me...u buy better shits when u have more money! thats how the world is like

what are u guys here trying to prove to this kid? that u know the hardwork of making money?
common...why does it matter? this kid might never have to make money in his life...so why bother?

haha DB9 is kinda right, just cuz you're poor doesn't mean you get to bitch.

OK FINE, you can bitch about it. but it doesn't mean you're right haha.

i'm not gonna bother buying my own car until I have my own house.

otherwise, i can laugh at you guys for living in your parents house still. what's the difference.

if you live on your own, and have your own car, great.
if you only have one of those two, well big deal, if i wanted to i could go out and buy some 10 000 dollar car with my own money as well, but you know what, no. im going to go out and buy an 800 000 dollar house instead. and no i dont have 800k in my bank account. I'm just saying that I'm saving for somethign different.

i wish i had a porsche when i was 16. but I didn't. i drove the family van. and it was cool. until it broke.

for the record, my parents are in no way poor. im not getting into it but if they so chose they could afford to buy me a porsche boxster when i was 16.

thats not the point tho. what does buying your kid a $70,000 car teach the kid?? nothing. doesn't teach them fiscal responsibility, doesn't teach them what hard work gets you, teaches you nothing.
its one thing to help your kid out and buy them an A to B car at the age of 16 so that they can get to school and things. A to B cars are the one that grandma doesn't need anymore, or the car your buddy at work is selling cause he is buying a new car. its not a brand new $70,000 porsche boxster.

i may be preaching on deaf ears here i dunno

well, it's not about daddy can afford a better car for his
son/daughter. We are talking about, do you appreciate the gifts?
can you afford to MAINTAIN the car? will you learn how hard to
earn money in real world? most people here are car enthusiasts,
they buy it, they mod it, they are proud of their hardworkship (is
this even a word?)

right, you drive an boxter S, you are cool, but you can't even take
care of the car, imagine you bring ur car to inspection, and the bill
is $750..."mom, can I have $750, so I can pay for the bill?" these
kinda kids won't learn, I have been this stage when I was
younger, and now I realized how dipshit I am when I have to
work my ass out just to pay for the gas and insurance.

u have a point there, but u missed out some points there as well
there might be several reasons why his dad got him a boxter-s
im sure hes dad is rich and successful, and he knows the hardwork of making money and shit...
the kid might be his only son...hes important to him
the reason he wants to get him a brand new car for his first car might be because a brand new car is more reliable and safer..buying a second hand car could be risky, u dont know when it might break down on the road...
and the other reason might be because he wants to treat his son better...
his dad might be some business man who goes around the world often and doesnt have much time to spend with his family...
thats why buying his son a nice car might be his way of loving his son, a way to make up to him...by doing so he makes his son happy...

1. if you want to buy your kid a reliable car get him a toyota, honda, mazda whatever. not a porsche.
2. nothing says good parenting than buying your kids love. man i wish i lived in that household.

What I want to know is.... if mommy and daddy buy you a porsche, then do they also pay for the insurance?? Its not the fact of owning an expensive car, its the fact of keeping it.

I drive an Integra, I got it myself without any help, but insurance is a bitch and a half. If I knew the insurance was going to be like this, I would have got a different car.

Did you just delete your cruise post?

I think cruising with your mom in a convertible with a red L in the back is cool.

DO IT! so I can point and laugh

Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.
