i think the 4th one is possibly a bit soft around the feathers, but when i look at the whole image its quite sharp around the eyes and beek. The others are quite sharp though. Most of them are crops of some kind. I would like to get the 1.4 pretty soon for some more reach. It's amazing how in birding there is never enough reach. Saw a guy at brackendale with a 1d body, a 600L, a 2x and a 1.4 stacked! Crazy! edit: took the fourth one out for softness, so now its different. |
Mission was pretty good. i went to Reifel today, and I should be going to Branckendale tomorrow. :) Editing all these images and video is going to be a pain in the ass.... |
From Akumal beach, Mexico Best I could do, 70-200 F4 non IS, hand held http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4029/...1be430c6_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2741/...a04fcdc6_b.jpg |
From our eagle shoot on the 28th. Most of the eagles were on the other side of the river so it was a bitch getting a decent shot. My 400 wasn't enough. I think our buddy with his 600mm had issues too lol And it was freakin' cold as hell... Only got a hand full of decent shots (I guess?). http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2538/...89ff9d79_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4067/...da5e09d2_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4039/...ca1321e3_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2580/...b805cb6f_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2533/...0ee49db9_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2638/...2d3dab7b_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4056/...f2089b8f_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2521/...4cf1c66b_o.jpg Fun shot :P Taken with my P&S. Looking through the front of the 500mm at my buddy with his 600mm. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2674/...90627490_o.jpg |
Nice shot Hoking! You don't see those at Reifel! Great pictures there too niforpix! Looks like it could be a great location! Did you get a 400mm lens? Which one? |
^^ Thanks! I borrowed it from work. It's the one you had I believe. 400mm F5.6. Jason had the 500 with 1.4x TC. Our buddy Vince had a Nikon D3s with a 600mm with 1.4 TC. |
Bootslut: I forgot to mention that your images are a bit too over saturated. Is your monitor calibrated? Where in Brackendake did you go? By the lookout on the dyke? |
^^ Jason beat me to it. I was gonna mention that too. |
Nope, my monitors are not calibrated that might be part of my funky colors. I will have to look into getting that fixed. I went to the lookout part of Brackendale, but that area is allright. I go the this area by the Railway Museum, and the Burkenhead River. If you want i can take you up there sometime. I"m not expert just a few places i've found to be allright. |
Shit, the Birkenhead River is out by Pemberton isn't it? Haha... I don't want to go that far, at least not today. I'll check out the area by the museum though. Thanks. |
Nice shots Jason! |
Yes, nice shots Jason! Did good for your location! I'm curious how Squamish was today? Weather wise and all that.. |

Then I realized that I had parked my car on the same surface! There was no getting out...my car had sunk 3~4 inches into the mud. I called BCAA and he got me out, but it cut 1 hour off my shooting time! :lol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/IMG_0698.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/IMG_0700.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/IMG_0705.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/IMG_0711.jpg |
Jesus thats quite the day! The Riefel photo's are very nice! Good action shots too! Hilarious bout your car too! I think i know where abouts you were. Too bad no AWD for your car! hahaha! Nice Senna! Also looks like the 7D did quite well in the rain as well! How hard was it raining? This makes me feel quite a bit better about the 7D in the rain! |
Well i went out to Reifel today, and ended up being a great day! Mostly clear with some rainy periods here and there. The 7D 500L combo worked out great in the rain! I'm very happy with it! Can't wait to try out the 1.4x when it gets here! That will be some serious reach! Here are a few shots from today. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4051/...a2a2df80_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2742/...c6367575_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4056/...6d897b75_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4061/...0a14926d_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4006/...0deb73d1_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4013/...72c19fcb_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4024/...a1ce625a_o.jpg That's enough post whoring for now. All in all, great day! Basically had the whole place to myself! |
Awesome formation flying shot! Don't know about you, but I'm getting bored of Reifel...I need to find someplace new. |
Thanks Senna! Yeah i feel the same way, but where it this new place? Anyone know any secrets? |
