I think the lighting worked out really well for those pics. Well done. Quote:

nice shot! this one looks effing G |
thanx . i did get a mature one too, but damn , so many branches! at least the branches look less noticable with a young bird. http://www.epicdevelopements.com/wp-...11/mature2.jpg |
Did you take those in Ladner or out in Mission? I just got back from Harrison - will post pics later. |
wow nice bald eagle pics :) |

i know you did. when i told you i'm North Van Mike i guess it didn't register? i thought the little spit of land they taped off at Tapadera was lame, standing there with 20 other guys waiting for an eagle shot to be "delivered", lol. i found a couple of juicy spots on my own, and next time i go i'm going to camp out for a few hours. and by "camp" i mean a chair and a bucket of coffee. one more: http://www.epicdevelopements.com/wp-...11/mature1.jpg |
Oh, haha... you didn't say you were "NVM" from RS! I thought you were one of the members of the group I was leading and I didn't recognize "North Van Mike" from the name list so I just pretended to know you. Lol... Yeah, the eagle count was non-existent compared to last year. Bummer. I'm heading out to the Boundary Bay area now to see if I can see anything. I didn't see you with a 400mm f5.6, IIRC...? |
still had my gear in my backpack at that point. loving this lens. http://www.epicdevelopements.com/wp-...11/seagull.jpg http://www.epicdevelopements.com/wp-...stsighting.jpg http://www.epicdevelopements.com/wp-...1/backside.jpg |

Nice fucking setup Senna! Tha'ts BOSS! I gotta Wimberly I waiting for me at home, now all i need is the Gitzo, and maybe upgrade to a 1D MKIV sometime too! Post some darn eagle pictures already Senna! NVM, nice eagle pictures as well! How close could you get to the eagles? Darn branches are always in the way! One day you will have a 500mm F4! It'll grow on you! You are taking the same path i took. It's so evil! |
well, i know one thing, there'll be no hiking with that rig. so, i completely forgot how easy it is now to capture smaller birds. between eagle outings, i'm going to go on local bird walks too. http://www.epicdevelopements.com/wp-...blackbird1.jpg |
The first time out shooting since my mom passed away a few months ago. It was cathartic. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/EZ2C8713.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/EZ2C8830.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/EZ2C8856.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/EZ2C9036.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/EZ2C9100.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/EZ2C9192.jpg |
I'm very sorry to hear about your loss Senna. :( I have been there before. Keep your head up soldier! It's been 15 years that my dad passed away, and every single day i have thoughts of him. Thanks for posting these pictures, they are of your high standard. Cheers! |
yeah, i'm going to give eagles a break this weekend. Senna, i think we BOTH should have paid heed to my scouting report regarding the Eagle Festival. December seems to be the "go time" from the responses i've been getting. i'm going to try Brackendale in a couple / few weeks. til then, no bird is safe: http://www.epicdevelopements.com/wp-...11/11/duck.jpg |

^^^ Yup, saw them there last week, but they were too far away. I'm taking the 800mm f5.6 tomorrow to see if I can catch them. It's still early - there will probably be more in December/January. ...or maybe I'll try my luck with the eagles up in Brckendale. |
