Yea bald eagle time! I want atleast 70-300mm VR lens but I'm so poor its most likely time to sell my gear. 2500 eagles at Harrison Mills. Maybe I'll be able to catch a ride with someone who is heading out there and I can just watch the beautiful view from a distance. |

if you want guaranteed eagle shots, there's a nesting pair right across the street from the entrance of the bridge to Westham Island. the tree they're in isn't even very big, so if you hang around there for a couple hours , you'd get some awesome shots of them flying in and out of the nest. this is an uncropped shot with my 400mm. check out the perfect branch for them to land on. http://www.epicdevelopements.com/wp-...1/nesting1.jpg |

I had the 70-200 2.8 IS and the the version II is much sharper, has faster focussing and shorter min focus distance. I almost always leave it at 2.8 as its that sharp wide open. I was never happy with my version 1. Was not sharp wide open but the new one compares to my 85L wide open. I feel it's worth the money as I sold my version 1 for minimal loss and only added a few hundred more for the newer one. I played with a 2x TC version 3 and it was pretty damn sharp too! The newer IS allows for some ridiculous hand hold ability (ss 1/20 @ 200mm is still sharp if I try a little). Let me know if you ever want to try it out :) Posted via RS Mobile |

Thanks, Ernie! You've got a nice set, too....love the heron. Which eagle nest is that? BTW, you interested in a used 600mm f4L IS in almost new condition? |
These beautiful pictures make me wanna get something longer.. Posted via RS Mobile |
Thanks as well Senna! :) The Eagles nest is the very well known nest before the bridge going to Reifel. Maybe its just the way i cropped it a tad bit. Would I like to buy a 600 F4? I won't really answer your question but, I just got married not too overly long ago. :) A happy wife is a happy life! |
Haha....will she know the diff between the 500 & 600 though? :p Posted via RS Mobile |
Wish I had some better gear. Shot with my $200 Sigma 70-300mm https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...87010666_o.jpg |
There was a live owl show at the Richmond Nature Park today. There was a barred owl named Jesse and a saw-whet named Snoopy. It made me really sad to hear that they were unable to be reintroduced because of various ailments, but it was quite neat to see them so close. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...owlshow-17.jpg |
