Snowy owls would be nice. I'm not much of a photographer but I've never seen one before so I want to go spotting :) |
I went to the end of 72nd street last weekend, must have seen about 20? thats when I took the picture I posted on the last page |
Oh, so they're still there, then. Cool, mybe I'll go this Sunday! |
I'm going to the dykes in the mornin'. In the mean time: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...nning-duck.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ding-ducks.jpg |

Nice captures, but they're very contrasty, unsharp & overexposed. The crane on the very right attacked me last time! |
Contrast- ya thats my lack of photoshop experience, how much is too much Unsharp- these are actually the first 2 pics I tried to sharpen in PS? maybe I did it wrong lol Overexsposed- yep, I do that a lot, wish I could see it on my camera better, I usually don't find out till I'm home =( The grumpy crane- He's mean eh, I actually have a funny shapshot of him attacking a young couple that were trying to walk past, the look of fear on the womans face is priceless |
^ post it :D what camera are u using currently? too much contrast is if it starts to look unnatural unless u intended for that look |
Actually I usually am trying to make it look more "natural" I find that too many of my photos look really dull versus what my eyes see when I'm taking them. I'm using a Canon S2is, I currently have 'vivid' turned on for all my manual shots. I don't really know what it does (ADD has made reading the manual really slow, I'm half way through and I've had it since last spring =) I just found that I liked my photos better straight off the camera with it on. If I posted the originals, could you show me how you would play with them? Here's the quick snap of the crane, there was no setup, I didn't even have my camera out when it stabbed at her. I just think its funny that she looks so scared, and her guy is laughing. http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/3733/img49859pg.jpg *oh and I didn't change anything in this one besides resize/border, does it look to contrasty as well? |
Looks like the bastard crane that came after me....head cap looks the same: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...hillcranes.jpg |
hunt it down next time! :p i like that picture actually 77civic1200! the vivid basically adds some saturation and contrast to the picture already :) |

Oh, now that I looked at the original again, boy did I ever use to much contrast. I should keep a version of that open to compare to next time, I didn't realize how far it had gone =) oopsies |

that duck is fat |
the last shot is a little dark...but great captures !! |
All the ducks at Reifel are fatsos. I kept the last shot a bit underexposed just to keep it moody, like the expression on the crane. Scary bastard. |
Here's why they are fat =) http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/5...edducks9an.jpg http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/1827/img59668rf.jpg |

hahahaha that happened because u didn't ask for her permission to take her pics! =D |
She refused to sign the model release. What was I supposed to do? :p |
