now that the R-F Bluetail buzz has died down, we have another one. there's a Gyrfalcon out there and he's a celeb. i have some first hand info too & if it's good this weekend, i'm on it.
Hey were you at the Richmond Nature Park today running what looked like a photo walk with 3 women? I thought it was you because it's quite unlikely for someone to be holding what looked like 2 pro bodies and a 300 or 400 2.8 on both of them
Sorry if I was eyeballing you- I was trying to see whether it was you or not
Amazing Eagle shots NVM, is this the same location that you pointed out before? How far away were you? Seems pretty close! Great job, you are using the 500 really well!

thanks. no, this was at New Brighton. i was inside my 10 meter MFD a few times, and had to switch lens settings. you can see in the video how close i was, the bird is full frame high. i really had to concentrate on centering the bird, not cutting parts off.

*ahem* 5 women, and yes it was most likely me. Red North Face jacket? I had the D800E + 400mm f2.8VR & D4 + 300mm f2.8VR. I was hand holding the 400mm because I forgot my tripod....I'm so sore today. Did you see me by the birdseed feeders or by the hummingbird feeders?

UGH THAT KIT
Yup red TNF jacket! And I saw you right when I walked out of the building with the owls near the bird feeders. I'm terrible with faces and names, but next time I'll say hi (more to have a chance at using whatever you have on you )

Next time come and say hi...I would have let you borrow the lens and/or body for a bit. We were waiting around twiddling our thumbs for about 30 minutes for a friend who went into the bog.
