For you Nikonista birders, the new Nikon 80-400mm f4.5~5.6VR is a super sharp lens, it's really sweet! |
Too bad its super expensive :( |
^^^ If you look at the price by itself it may be, but there is no other lens on the market that has the sharpness, speed, build quality and range at a lower price point. Maybe the Sony 70-400, but it isn't weather sealed. I think it's a good deal. |
http://blog.patricyuen.com/wp-conten...4/DSC_3577.jpg These birds below seemed almost impossible to photograph, they were flying so quick and they were also so small. http://blog.patricyuen.com/wp-conten...4/DSC_3469.jpg http://blog.patricyuen.com/wp-conten...4/DSC_3468.jpg http://blog.patricyuen.com/wp-conten...4/DSC_3521.jpg http://blog.patricyuen.com/wp-conten...4/DSC_3522.jpg http://blog.patricyuen.com/wp-conten...4/DSC_3536.jpg |
Those little, but fast motherfuckers are Tree Swallows. Almost impossible to get a good photo when they're in flight - so agile! Try going to Burnaby Lake - they fly low over the water right by the dock so they are much closer to you. |

^^^ Really? How can you tell? I assumed Reifel or Iona...I've only been to Burnaby Lake once. |
Its about 2 mins from my place, and I've been going there since I was a kid =) The first one looks like it has a couple bird house posts in the grass (there are about 50 bird houses out there) and then in a couple later ones you can see some buildings far in the background (north road area) |

77civic1200 is correct, those are from Burnaby Lake :) |
Those birds are crazy fast! Sweet photos! The new 80-400mm sounds awesome but I still want my 300 f/2.8 even though it costs much more. |
Excellent effort on the Swallow shots. Posted via RS Mobile |

My one and only somewhat acceptable shot of a Tree Swallow in flight. There's a person on Fred Miranda who takes amazing shots of Tree Swallows in flight...forgot his/her name though. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...EZ2C0683-1.jpg |
