It was a good week of birding! Canon Canada CPS loaned me a few small lenses for a week of testing and review. It was very sad to see them being taken away by the Purolator guy... - 300mm f2.8L IS II - 400mm f2.8L IS II - 500mm f4L IS II - 200-400mm f4L IS http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pse11e7cb9.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps935be162.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pscfd8e25d.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps2627ae25.jpg Seagull head under the Bald Eagle nest along with what seems to be goose bones. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps313b44dd.jpg |

This past weekend I was invited to a party at Bald Eagle researcher David Hancock's house. He lives on a 5 acre property where he also breeds Sandhill Cranes, Demoiselle Cranes and other birds from Asia, South America & Africa in a massive aviary. The 2 crane species wander the property freely. It was really cool having them walk amongst the guests not giving a shit. David let us walk into all of the pens to take photos except for the one with the adult Sandhills and another that housed a very territorial Peacock Pheasant. Demoiselle Crane http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps28daa686.jpg Superb Starling from Africa http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps7ebd0b4d.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psa8865b26.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps9ce44e74.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps683741f7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psa94d7acf.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps4344bdf5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps70cd95b3.jpg Gorgeous Bald Eagle http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps466b4586.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps4d36827e.jpg My crazy friend attempting to lick the Bald Eagle http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps977df238.jpg Ginger, the two month old Sandhill wandering among the guests http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps1fea1577.jpg |
