"Stop taking pictures of me and feed me!" ...is what Tasha, my friend's Harris Hawk seems to be thinking. We had chopped up a quail to feed his two Harris Hawks and boy, were they hungry! We threw the quail pieces in the air so I could try and get photos of them catching the pieces in mid-air.

Ma Eagle has just landed beside the nest to relieve Pa of the egg sitting duties. Pa takes off to go hunting and Ma carefully walks in to the nest to avoid harming her egg/s. You can see Ma rolling her eggs between her legs. "The purpose of this roll is to make sure that the lighter yolk does not rise to the egg surface and the delicate blood vessels that cover the yolk touch and stick to the shell surface, killing the developing chick." - David Hancock
where's a good place to dabble in bird photog/bif? I'll probably bring the telephoto 85-310mm and a portrait prime 85mm.
One of my colleague goes to the richmond nature park but i dunno if it's any good this time of the year or beginner-friendly.
I've only been the the richmond nature park once. Saw a bunch of fat squirrels and thats about it.
I'd say go to Reifel Bird Sanctuary for the most variety. Piper spit on burnaby lake for the best BIF practice. Or just wait a month for bald eagle season to pick up and head to Brackendale or out towards Harrison
Snow Geese are out and about, and all over the place. Iona, or the Richmond dyke by #1 Road. BIF all day, they can be fun to shoot when there is a billion of them. They are at Reifel also! Go at golden hours to get nice light!
