I think that's incredible! What'd you shoot it with at 313mm?

Boostslut 03-06-2008 01:53 PM

That eagle pic in unbelievable!

My pics were taken with a Canon 70-200 2.8

77civic1200 03-06-2008 07:03 PM

Thanks guys, that was with my bigma. I waited 15 mins for that guy to jump out of the tree. I tend to shoot those a little looser because its hard to tell which way and how far they will launch. I hate clipping wingtips on shots I wait so long for.

Boostslut - your second shot is a juvenile bald eagle. They change to black/white after about 2 years I believe? good angle on him, must have been low down?

ColinK 03-06-2008 07:13 PM

sigma what?

Boostslut 03-06-2008 08:58 PM

I enjoy photographing birds now that i can with a decent lens. I'm sick of seeing ducks and seaguls. Where do you guys go to take decent pics of better birds in the lower mainland? Thanks! :)

That Eagle was pretty low down and i could walk up on him to get a decent shot.

There's that bird sanctuary in White Rock that begins with a "R"...I forgot the name though.

Looks like a bit of fill flash too

77civic1200 05-23-2008 11:21 AM

Yes on the bigma
More than just fill flash, its almost completely lit by flash, one behind and lower left, one on a stand from upper right
