not really a sales man things..but check this ad: http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...4&pgno=4&srt=1

as most of you know, this car is equiped with a 4 cylinder boxer engine, and all subarus are awd...I figured I'd offer them a few thousand less just because it has two cylinders less than advertised

Returning customer, looking for a learner car for his son.
Sold a 89 civic, Told the customer is was 5spd Manual(It was a 4spd Manual)
Customer came down, did the paperwork and paid for the vehicle in full, befor seeing the car.
They drove off and all was well. 5mins later, they return very upset saying that
the car only has four gears and I lied.
I simply told them it was a missunderstanding, Reverse is a Gear making it the 5th one.
We laughed it off, and I rolled the car.
Another satisfied customer.

^ indeed! but a good one

#1 - happened to a female friend of mine who wanted a 5 spd Mustang. I ended up finding her one on here but when she looked at one in town she was told "it has the 6 cyl so you know it gets great mileage." she looks over at her shitty old 323 and goes "riiiiight"

#2 - brothers looking for a first car, he really wants an MR2 but we were looking all over for options. this guy friend to sell us a Corvette, as a 16 year olds first car. Now I appreciate that he didn't discriminate on age, but c'mon, we told him right away we were looking for cheap starter cars.

#3 - my grandparents were getting a new minivan and selling their 04 Caravan to my uncle. they found a really nice, newer Caravan that they really liked, and it was just as my grandma was filling out the check the guy was like "oh and by the way it was in one minor accident" they walked away right then.

Was checking out autotrader a few years ago while working, saw an ad for a car that's "never seen snow" but with a picture with it on the road, snows both sides.

mercedes benz salesmen: what is this euro delivery you speak of?

bmw salesmen: no one orders a car with the options (spartan and MT) you picked. it is at least a 3-6 month wait for something like that. but we have one very close to what you want in our stock. (fully loaded with useless crap, auto, wrong colour, way more expensive)

it wasn't what he said, it's what he did... a young salesman at Burnaby Automall test drove my car I was gonna trade in, BUT wouldn't let me test drive the 350z I was interested in!!

he expected me to buy the car without test driving it or even inspecting it, his exact words were "It's a 350z, good on paper, good in real life, trust me"

that was the biggest piece of bullshit I have ever gone through when trying to buy something, I don't even wanna write here what I told him before I left

One time my friend and I were screwing around at the hyundai dealership and he wanted to test drive the hyundai genesis. We could tell this old fat guy didn't know anything about the car or cars period. So we asked him when the turbo kicked in and he said well it starts at 0 rpms and goes all the way to redline.

lol

At the honda on marine dr in south van, there was a 30-40yo ish salesman there, who when i wanted to know about the New accord coupe (at the time) kept insisting that it had a "V4 engine" and he wanted to get rid of old inventory, so he goes outside and tells me the 07 is the same thing... and he even put his hand up against the window and looked inside and went "yup it's the same!" I don't think he works there nemore, i just walked away after that, pretty ticked

I know its not really a used car story but w/e

I have to say though, car sales has become such a joke when everyone just uses the manufacturer website, I always know the specs of a car better than the sales just because i research on their website beforehand, and when i get there, they just show me the website...

I have a friend who applied for a job @ a new dealership on Kingsway (not gonna say where, but you guys can prob figure it out). He got hired, but quit within a month. His manager pushed all the sales to convince customers that those cars that have been in serious car accidents in their 2nd hand lot is actually better than those with a clean history, since new parts are put in to the car.

When I was shopping for a new car last year, got a pretty good deal on a TL (475 a month for 4 years) But I shopped around... went to Auto West BMW, and the girl there sits me in a 323i and says this is what I can do for 475 a month. I laughed and left.

Middlegate Honda - Told my parents that they drove the CR-V (we bought new) to 88km purposely because some people require that.

Really? I'm surprised BMW lease is more $ than acura, although the TL did have some good deals at the time
