Would you guys pay an extra $25/per night to stay at VDARA as opposed to The Mirage? ($25 * 4 nights = $100-ish extra)

Just checked-in today at Vdara and used the $20 sandwich trick.
Originally booked the deluxe suite but asked the front office counter guy if there were any complimentary upgrades (here I sandwich my credit card and id with a $20) and he immediately made a call to make sure the room was cleaned and ready. After the call, he hooked me up with a corner suite with the view of the bellagio fountain. Pretty good upgrade for only $20

i stayed at mirage before... room wasnt so bad but casino and atmosphere wasnt my thing. i would put extra to stay at vdara

mirage location is pretty good tho, you got TI, WYNN, venetian or palazzo near you.

^ To me that's the bad location.

I prefer Vdara with Bellagio, Cosmo and Aria.

stayed at vdara... mattress too soft. no water pressure, but other than that, was super clean.

liked the fact it was quiet. didnt mind the quick walk to aria or bellagio for anything else

Pretty lucky!

Went in May 2012 and did $20 trick only got upgraded to a high floor with fountain view.

I believe the corner suite are a tier above the one that we got - much better 180 degree view

Allegiant Air is having a Cyber Monday sale. Pretty good rates right now. I only checked flights, no hotels since I book separately.

*edit
They're having huge volume right now.. website is pretty broken right now.

Did you get any gift cards? I just found out there was a complimentary $100 gift card to spend at Crystals City Centre that went along with the upgrade. Pretty awesome upgrade for $20

Really? I found lots yesterday. All throughout May and June it was $68 (off days) & $84.

I didn't book anything though, not enough vacation days haha. It might be over now though..

So I was in vegas from this past tuesday till friday. Good times, went with the girl, my first time as an adult. Quick summary of hotel, restaurants and activities

Bellagio Buffet: It was average, for it's price I would have rather tried a different buffet, but the meat was decent, the crab legs were cold(I prefer hot) and there was an average amount to choose from.

Baccachanal @ Caesars: I have now completed life, probably one of the best experiences of eating. Fresh steamed crab legs at your request, oysters, 4 cuts of meat, authentic asian cuisine and an amazing dessert station. I couldn't explain and remember everything, but the food was so legit I was there for 2.5 hrs, it was well worth the price, $48/pp, to try at least once.

Carnegie Deli @ Mirage: Went here after clubbing, while I was kinda drunk, the sandwiches and portions are INSANE. I had the corned beef, and it was bigger than my face. Pretty good, fresh deli food. Open 24hrs I believe

Earl of Sandwich @ Planet Hollywood: 24 hr joint, not bad, pretty tasty sandwich but I would prefer the carnegie deli > earl of sandwich.

------------------------------------------

Mystere @ Treasure Island: Pretty acrobatic show. Not the biggest fan of this presentation, I had really good seats, second tier but first row and seats to ourselves via mycheapvegas.com. There was way too much going on and couldn't really focus or missed some of the things that were happening.

--------------------------------------

Treasure Island: $20 trick worked, panoramic view of the strip, clean spacious room. Nothing fancy, but barely spent time here. Casino was smokey as fuck compared to all the other ones, BUT it's probably cause it's one of the smaller ones.

-------------------------------------

Revoluton @ Mirage: First time clubbing, hip hop night on Thursday, and safe to say, dont know how between my girl and I we only spent $30 in total. Got in for free, both her and I, bought first round of drinks, hers was free, then we got a highball, and after that we didn't pay a dime, and we had lots to drink cause I don't remember much afterwards. Pretty cool small club, good crowd.

Thanks to those who gave input in this thread, hope mine helps a fellow future vegas traveller too

I mainly got her to get the drinks while I stood beside her, didn't bother to hide the fact it was for me. If they asked me to pay then I would have but we were never asked. I made an assumption thinking that maybe because it was a weekday and they were building reputation so people come on the weekend?

I watched KA in february. it's better you seat further back because they actually use the WHOLE area and not just the stage.

Good report!

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Bachannel buffet. I went there on the 2nd/3rd day of opening and also it was awesome.

It's good to know that it's been opened a few months now and it's still great - only downfall I know is they have raised the price a few times. But as long as the quality stays the same its all good!
