Which hotel is better? Luxor or MGM Grand? Went to www.travelocity.ca and for 4 days, 3 nights $415/person at Luxor and $446/night at MGM (taxes included). Also, is travelocity a pretty reliable place to book?

^ I just came back from Vegas. Stayed in Luxor hotel. I say pick MGM grand because it has the monorail and shuttle for the outlet.

MGM will save you from walking.

Anyways, here is my review about Luxor hotel because I am so bored right now.

From the time we stepped out from our shuttle bus, I already felt the friendly atmosphere. All the staffs were greeting us all the time even if it is in the middle of the night hanging out in the lobby. On top of that, the staffs made sure that we were enjoying our vacation like very satisfying room service, helping us opening one of my girlfriend's luggage, upgrading our rooms and helping us to check in our luggages before we left for the airport. Whenever I needed help or informations, the hotel operators were there to help 24/7. When we were about to leave, the friendly staffs were still making sure everything was perfect and not just alright.

STAFFS Rate: 5/5

to be continued.... gotta go and eat!

Chances are if you book separately you'll get a better deal.

AppleSugary 08-28-2007 09:45 PM

On top of that, yes travelocity is very reliable. It is cheaper than expedia.ca and has rewards points that you can use on your next purchase.

It is one of my favorite sites for travelling.

bangbus vegas style

MGM Signature > MGM > Luxor
Travelocity is very reliable but also usually more expensive, however the rates you've posted seem pretty fuggin good if you're flying out in the next couple of weeks. Like Ch.28 pointed out earlier, check out allegiant air. You gotta fly outta bellingham but it's cheaper 99% of the time.

That's what I did for my Vegas trip. Booked the air and hotel separately

These prices were for October 15-18 and were the cheapest I could find on all major travel websites (prices include air+deluxe room+taxes). MGM Signature is $487 per person. You think it's worth the extra $30?

Ch28 08-28-2007 11:37 PM

Make sure you guys sign up for the Vegas hotels mailing list...they often send out promotions via email that are pretty sweet.

Jermyzy: don't forget to use the $20 trick when checking in

AppleSugary 08-28-2007 11:54 PM

^We did not use the $20 dollar trick. We just showed up in Luxor and the check-in attendant got us free upgrade!!!

I dont know what happened but I and my friends got VIP/free treatments the whole time especially in Pure nightclub without paying anything! Free covers, free drinks, free gambling chips and a lot of more free stuffs :) :) :) :)

Try to book online at any hotel on the strip. There might be deals and the good thing about booking straight with a hotel is the abilty to change dates and if their rate lowers then you can ask for the difference back.

I've been looking at hotel/flight packages and after doing some research most travel "experts" and normal travelers have said that booking flight and hotel seperate usually ends up being a better deal and slightly cheaper.

I've decided to go with Luxor. For only $467, I get to stay for FOUR nights instead of 3 nights if I went with Signature MGM. I won't be spending much time in the room anyways :p

Where did you get that price?

I just received an email from Luxor with a code "LDNON12" but those 4 nights cost me like $550

www.travelocity.ca , but I think the price might be in USD , but after conversion it's still under $500.

However, I'm trying to book it right now, and I can't even search for air+hotel packages from Vancouver to Las Vegas on the website right now...every other destination works or if I book air and hotel separately to Vegas works, but for some reason when I try to search under air+hotel from Vancouver to Las Vegas, I keep getting a "we are having techinical difficulties" message. Can somebody else try this and see if it's just me?
