I need room/suite suggestions for my upcoming trip. There is only going to be 3 people, but we'll each need our own bed.
I'd like to stay in a half decent suite type of room, but we're not ballin' outta control, so money IS a factor.
This will be my first time down, and I want to do it right
Every search always turns up different suggestions, since there is SO MUCH to choose from down there.
I can always count on RS to cut through the shit, and give it to me straight... lol

What do you mean by "suite". If you mean suite you mean a seperate living area and/or half kitchen then none of the major hotels will give you that without 1K+ budget/night.
However, there are a few properties that are all-suite if you ARE looking for those amenities. Namely VDara. MGM Signature Suites and Hilton Elara. These usually go for about $130-$200+ a night.

Obviously, I don't really want to spend the huge coin on a ballin' ass suite... but was hoping for something in between. As for a budget, I don't have one at this point really. Just want to get an idea on what I'm looking at, then start saving my ass off
Since it will be me, and two guy friends, we'll need 3 separate beds... whether that's 2 beds and a sofa bed, or a wall bed, etc, I have no idea what the best plan is.

No offence to ^, but you are the worst advice-asker I've ever seen.
You have no budget, no set definition of what you want, and generally no clue of what you're looking for...to sum up what you're asking for is "I'm looking for a hotel."
It's pretty obvious that if you pay more, you will get a bigger and better room. Or you can pay less and walk 45 minutes to get to anywhere interesting. Be. more. specific.
Also, unless it's a size issue, what is wrong with sleeping in the same bed with some buddies who you are good friends enough with to go to Vegas together. Unless you're in highschool. In which case you can't check into any hotel rooms..
Now, to cut you some slack and give you helpful advice, try aiming for slightly away from center of strip. Last time I stayed at Tropicana because we weren't ballin' either, and it worked out to be about $50 a night, our resort fee was waived. Decent room, and not terribly inconvenient location wise.

Just got back from Vegas today.. It was ok warm during the day, but the temperature dropped like crazy at night. Stayed at the Monte Carlo with my M life rewards card promotion. Very quiet during the day, but is gets busier at night.
It was the first time I stayed at Monte Carlo with my wife, and we weren't very impressed. They had "wired" in-room internet access, but they had "free" wifi in the lobby of the hotel. The room felt old, and it needs a renovation. Some of the signs/plagues on the wall were crooked. The corners of the wall were peeling so on and so on.. One thing we did like was the access to Bellagio hotel using the free tram. I don't think we would pay to live at the Monte Carlo next time.

Last time I stayed at Tropicana because we weren't ballin' either, and it worked out to be about $50 a night, our resort fee was waived. Decent room, and not terribly inconvenient location wise. | In my defence, and as I already mentioned, I've never been.
Because there is so much to choose from down there, it's super tough to nail something down. I more looking for places that people have been to, and enjoyed (to help narrow the search).
Since there is 3 of us, and I'm older, I'm not sharing a bed. Period. It's not a gay thing, or anything childish, I just like my own bed. So do the other guys going with me.
As for budget, again, I've never been so it's tough to stay a specific $$ amount. Though from what I've been looking at thus far, I don't have an issue spending $200-300 a night. Which in all honesty, doesn't get you the greatest room, but they look pretty decent to me.
At least you offered some useful advice, so thank you lol

if youre going in march, there is a club crawl event that you pay $65 and it gets you in like 3 - 5 clubs with free drink passes and no lines.
spoon_fed, what are the dates youre planning to go?

Hmm. If you are a mature trio and are looking to do Vegas for the first time, take my advice, for what it's worth obviously.
I say all of these under the pretense you're not balling, but also aren't saving chump-change to go there.
Don't splurge on a nice room, especially if you go the first time. Get something decent and moderate, and spend your money on taking in what's available, as well as gambling/clubbing if you're into those. Most hotels in Vegas have generally the same size "rooms." If you're looking for 3 separate sleeping beds, you're most likely going to have to get a suite (1 bedroom type thing.) and those are quite costly. Another option to get around this is to just book 2 different rooms. Some hotels have adjoining rooms for this purpose.
As for moderate hotels, as other's have mentioned, try Planet Hollywood. It's in a good location, no stupid walks to get anywhere, and from what I remember, there's no resort fee. Cosmo and Aria are both nice as well.
If you're looking for a nice room, look off-strip as prices are considerably lower, for similar or higher quality. Hotwire.com worked very well when I went last.

Just came back from Vegas yesterday, would recommend Planet Hollywood. Its in a decent location on the strip, the Miracle Mile shops are underneath, and you don't have to pay any resort fees. If you need internet, Earl of Sandwich and Starbucks offer free wifi, you can also catch the Canucks games at the Sports Book.

Thanks for the hotel suggestions!
Do most hotels offer a cots? I know some hotels do NOT offer the cots/roll out beds. Might just be worth it to get adjoining rooms.

I remember tropicana offered a "rollout bed" for an additional fee, so some hotels may have it available.
But seriously, if you can, try and book adjoining rooms. That way you don't have to share toilets lol

venetian/pallazo - double queen bed room its 600 sq ft and has a very large L shaped sectional that is also a pull out sofa bed
They also will bring a roll out to your room when you call housekeeping in your home room
Caesars palace - Augustus Tower rooms are also very spacious and has a large 2 seater couch which one can sleep on. They also will bring a roll out to your room.

Case in point, this skinny guy comes into the gym the other day, must have only weighed ~ 140lbs, loads on 2 plates on the bench rack, mutters to himself, for sparta, unracks the barbell and proceeds to drop it directly on his chest.

Just got back from Vegas myself. We stayed at MGM. They are having killer promotions right now. We flew out of bellingham and got upgraded x2 room. We stayed there 4 days/3 nights. Cost was 700ish taxes in for both flight and hotel for both of us. When we got there they messed up our room, so we got upgraded another level. Our room was 800+ sq feet! This room was easily the nicest room i have ever been in.
The promotion i think is a discount off rooms and you get 2 free buffet's as well.
In the end they comped all of our buffet's that we ate in MGM and our room as well.
I agree with previous poster's, DO NOT worry about your room too much, you will not be there very much.

Are people still using Allegiant Air? Alot of negative reviews seemed to have popped up recently, especially since they started charging for Carry On luggage. I flew with Westjet last month and have nothing but good things to say, but their price for April seemed to have tripled and I'm looking for an alternative.

If for nothing else, than to put my mind at ease. You seem to hear waaay more negative things/expeirences with Allegiant, then you do about WestJet.
Was it more money? Yes. But I'm flying from YVR, direct flights, and at good times (nothing super early or a red eye).
Piece of mind was well worth the extra $$ for me.

I've flown with Allegiant a few times and never had a problem, decent flight times and always direct. Is it a budget airline, yes. Is flying with a standard or premium airline a better experience, yes. I always rather fly out of YVR but if the savings is significant ($250+ per person) then off to Bellingham I go.
Just looked up a Thu to Sun trip for May long weekend staying at Wynn. Direct flight from YVR with hotel is $2500 per couple, from BLI only $1500 per couple. Same trip two weeks later, same prices. For $1000 difference I am definitely going to fly out of BLI.
