Not all buffets but a decent selection of middle-range buffets like Paris.

The buffet at Aria was pretty good too.
There are so many places to eat in Vegas, it's overwhelming.
We tried a place called the Burger Bar, and it was AWESOME!! And this was just one of a handful of gourmet burger joints.
The highlight of my trip was easily Exoctics Racing. So much fun, despite the crazy heat.
As for a Cirque show, we hit up 'Zumanity' at New York New York. It was hilarious, with a lot of adult humour. Not to mention almost all of the girl performers are basically naked |

Harrah's: Flavors Buffet - decent, nothing special
Imperial Palace: Emperor's Buffet - never been
Paris Las Vegas: Le Village Buffet - weak. pretty much the same as Harrah's but with a crepe station
Planet Hollywood: Spice Market Buffet - best one for selection.
Flamingo: Paradise Garden Buffet - better than Harrah's, not as good as PH. Large-ish selection of desserts
Rio: Carnival World Buffet - never been
The waits are really long for PH but I think it's the best of the "free" ones. Harrah's is good if you don't want to wait a long time and just want standard buffet food.

#4 - Le Village Buffet in Paris: Quaint and a bit tacky decor with drapes and lots of painted walls, the crepe is the best part but nothing else really stands out.
#7 - Rio's Carnival World Buffet: Holymoly this is by far the BIGGEST buffet selection I've ever seen, the endless trays of food in the buffet line are insane! I could barely see the other end of the restaurant! Quality is decent.
#10 - Spice Market Buffet at Planet Hollywood: Best bang for your buck, the crab legs were delicious, and you can ask them to grill it for you too if you are tired of eating it cold. Bally's (not the Sunday Sterling Brunch): Went here for lunch, standard buffet fare, pretty solid but probably wouldn't go back with so many other options around.
On my next trip down in June I will be going to:
#2 - Bellagio (Kobe beef?! ) and possibly (#5) Aria or (#9) Cosmopolitan
I can't justify paying $85 for that #1 ranked "Sterling Brunch" ... it sounds great an' all, sure you get unlimited champagne, filet mignon and caviar but champagne makes you bloated. Plus I'll probably be hungover from the night before so the last thing I need is bubbly death. Another note is that I usually can't eat that much in the morning for brunch anyway. That being said, I will give it a shot if I win a buttload of money at the tables the night before | Posted this about a year ago, nothing much as changed except Caesar's Palace went all out to upgrade their Buffet.

I bought the 24 hour buffet before ... regretted buying it ... but would do it again (if that makes sense) ! Quote:

Imperial Palace: Emperor's Buffet
Paris Las Vegas: Le Village Buffet
Planet Hollywood: Spice Market Buffet
Flamingo: Paradise Garden Buffet
Rio: Carnival World Buffet
Rio: Village Seafood Buffet - available for $15 more per person
| You can just ask to buy the pass when you get into the any of the listed participating buffets. (They are all owned by the same company) So Wynn/Bellagio are not included.
Buy the pass when you go to any of the buffets, remember the pass expires EXACTLY 24 hours from the minute you buy it. So if you purchased it at 7:35pm, go line-up for dinner the next day by 6:30pm. I haven't personally experienced this but I've heard that they are pretty strict on the pass and will deny you entry if your pass is expired. So don't start lining up for the next day buffet at 7:30pm cuz when you get to the entrance it will be closer to 8pm (or later) and they could possibly not let you in which would suck ass. This was my plan of attack: 8:00pm - Drive out (or take the shuttle from Harrah) to Rio because it's supposed to be the LARGEST buffet in America. The Seafood Buffet is DIFFERENT from the World Buffet even though they are in the same hotel. I opted to try the World one to see how big the big is lol ... (and DAMN it was huge, literally every cuisine under the sun was available there) ... you could get a bowl of pho, pizza, sushi, prime rib, kebabs, wonton noodle, etc ... I was impressed lol ... stuffed myself like a Thanksgiving turkey. Next Day: 12:00pm - Plan was to get up early in the morning for breakfast but... ya that didn't happen lol ... so went for lunch at Harrah's, very average, nothing special. Basically your standard buffet, quality and selection were regular and sorta boring. 3:30pm - Decided to go for an afternoon buffet snack at Paris cuz I heard they had a good dessert station. I loosened the belt and went for lunch #2! ... chose a few things from around the buffet... a slight upgrade on Harrah but nothing to write home about. They did have a decent selection of desserts and a made-on-the-spot crepe station loaded with fruits and cream. 7:00pm - Went to Spice Market because reviews say this is the best buffet in the 24 hour package, one of the better ones in Vegas overall... got in around 7:40 and sat around for a bit cuz I was still full from my "afternoon snack" haha ... had a few drinks, then started to beast out around 8:15pm. Funny note, I actually asked the concierge at Caesar's hotel and he said "dude, the buffet here... *shakes head* ... go to PH, you didn't hear it from me" ... lol ... but since renovations they stepped up their game.
Now my advice from an experienced buffet master haha ...
I would definitely go PH for lunch instead of Harrah's and probably skip Paris unless you can't resist yourself and just eat a small crepe (but not worth the time to line-up IMO)
The new Buchanel Buffet at Caesars (Note: you have to pay an extra $15 for the new and improved Caesar's Buffet but it's worth it) so go there for your 2nd dinner.
Even if you only manage to just hit up Rio and PH, you would have made your money's worth because each buffet will be over $25 individually and you paid $50 for the pass.

Nice!
Now for renting a car, where can I find the best deals? I'm figuring that transit won't cut it for me as I'm going in August and don't want to die in the sun...

At least about the cab drivers. I saw more cabs run red lights, then I've ever seen in my life. On top of driving reckless.
People in general were pretty good on the roads though.
We rented our car from the car rental place at the airport (which is actually a 5-10 min shuttle ride from the airport). All major rental companies under one roof. Should be able to get a decent deal from someone there. We got ours from Budget.

Even if you only manage to just hit up Rio and PH, you would have made your money's worth because each buffet will be over $25 individually and you paid $50 for the pass. | I also did the Buffet of Buffet last year in early Oct 2012 when the Ceasar's Bachannel Buffet just openned
My mode of attack for the 24hr pass to take full advantage:
8:00pm - Rio Buffet. Surprising this buffet was pretty good as they have alot of selection. Had to wait in line for 45 minutes though. I would return to this one.
7:30am - Paris: Went early so not much of a lineup. Breakfast selection was good. They make crepes and waffles to order. Other than that I would return but wouldn't make it on my "to do/try" list.
1:00pm - Planet Hollywood Spice Market - They are famous for their tandori oven chicken kaboobs and cupcakes. Selection was alright. Not much to write home about. Would return if the buffet was free or 1/2 off and there's always some coupon flying around.
5:00pm - Caesars Bachannal Buffet - $15 upcharge.
When I went it just openned up and everything was flying on all cylinders. This buffet IMO is by far the Best in Vegas. Think unlimited king, snow crab legs, largest cocktail shrimp you can find, shucked oysters and mussles. Grilled meat station was insane - prime rib, lamp chops, brisket, sausages, pork, turkey - the works!!!. Asian selection was great too (blacked chicken gingsing soup, pho, jap ramen, sushi and more). Dessert was amazing as well as they featured many types of desserts I haven't seen from other buffets.
I got there at 5:00pm on the 4th opening day and waited 1hr45mins... So YMMV
TLDR: If you get 24hr buffet pass start at 8pm and end at 8pm next day (you will get 2 dinners, 1 breakfast and 1 lunch). Upgrade to the CP Bach buffet as it's well worth it!
Some ppl may call it crazy or super fatass for doing 4 buffets in 24hrs but hey it turns out to be $50-$80 per person for 4 meals of unlimited everything and it also gives you a chance to visit different hotels & casinos. I would recommend it if you like to do those kind of things.

The Bacchanal buffet has a pay to get in to a shorter lineup thing... I personally think it's worth it depending how much time you actually have in Le Vegas.

Also re: rental cars, oftentimes if they have excess inventory they will offer to upgrade your car for a very minimal additional cost.
Last time we ordered a compact 4-door but got upgraded to an SUV (Mazda CX9) for like, $10 more per day.
