Just a heads up as I don't know if I ever said this on here, but I went down to vegas a little while back.
I did one of the Allegiant air deals staying at the bellagio, 4 nights. Group of 8 of us went down.
Honestly I would probably just book something flying out of YVR next time. By the time you add up the expenses of going to bellingham and such for the flight, and you factor the pain in the ass that it is, I would much rather a peaceful flight with westjet out of Vancouver.
The deal was decent too, it came out to $550 a person (2 per room). $20 trick worked as always (although I just did one $100 bill for the entire group), but the added expenses, of gas, parking, paying for luggage, etc. Just seemed not worth it.
I totalled everything up, we still saved about $100 each flying out of BHam with allegiant. But in my head (and I know many will disagree), I just felt I would have rather given them a $100 and not have driven down to the states, and driven back up late at night...
That's just my .02.

For Vegas, I typically book separate flights and hotels. I find it cheaper that way.
I agree, unless you're saving $200 or more person, no point for flying through bellingham. The time and comfort is just not the same.
Also depends on what purpose of going. If you're going to party, coming back and driving back while you're tired or hungover is just not worth it. Maybe I'm getting old but just don't have the energy to do it like that and recover from it quickly.

Yeah, people need to do the math to see if it really is worth the trip and headache to fly out of Bellingham ...
I personally also book flights and hotels separately as it tends to always be cheaper ... for hotels, since my wife likes to stay in the higher end places, I use priceline to book my hotels using the whole 5 star rebid trick until I get one of them for a lot cheaper than advertised ... if you want to know what its all about, I can explain or just PM me and I'll point you to the right direction ...
Another good thing to do if you are headed to Vegas is to play the MyVegas FB and mobile game ... not sure if its been mentioned here before but I've been playing since last year (no real money spent on it at all) and I've redeemed for weekend night stays at Mandalay Bay, free buffets and free Cirque shows so far ...

Trump tower is the black sheep of the north strip area for 5 star hotels as it sometimes shows up and some people don't like how its a bit off the strip and has no casino but its still a nice hotel and right across from the fashion show mall ...

North 5* for hotwire is either Trump or Wynn/Encore. One is with casino, the other is without. Also golf course is the kicker too.

I've used PriceLine every single time I've hit up Vegas.
So far I got Aria x 2, Treasure Island, Palazzo, Wynn and Monte Carlo all far below market price.
Don't think Cosmo is on PriceLine but would like to stay there one day.

Just booked through allegiant for 3 nights at the end of September.
3 nights at Venetian for 2 ppl, including airfare $800.
Still was cheaper than flying from YVR at $300-350 per person (flight only).
A general rule when booking with allegiant, is that you add a minimum of $100-125 on top of the price that is listed as your total.
That adds the extras such as round trip shuttles, selecting seat fares, and carry on baggage fees.
Just saying.

i went cheapo and stayed at the stratosphere, because everyone else in my party was staying there. Never staying there again. Took like an hour to walk there from the strip lol.
I should of used my gut instinct and stayed on the the main strip, instead of this place.

Most of the times I go to Vegas, I fly there on allegiant or Alaska and fly back on westjet. The return flight is much cheaper. Usually around $120 and you're back in Vancouver. Quote:

I've got the last 3 nights of our Vegas trip booked at NYNY. I used my MyVegas points to get those. Now, I just need to book the first night, but NYNY is sitting at $115 per night, at the moment. Got 10 days before I go. I think I'm going to get in the Vegas spirit and see if the price drops more.
