I think you mean Bill's Gambling Hall is what Cromwell used to be, Imperial Palace is now the Quad ...

Cromwell looks okay looking from the outside, I just quickly walked in to take a look at Giada's restaurant there but I wasn't too impressed with the inside of the place ...

Oh I didn't know that, haven't been back in a couple years. My co-worker told me the club inside Cromwell is the new hot spot. I wonder if they are listed on PriceLine

Staying at NYNY until friday. The attendant didn't need the sandwich to give me upgrades because I was polite and patient, but I gave them the 20$ anyways. I'm having my usual PBR breakfast while I wait for the wife to 'get ready' for the day.

Last time I went, I stayed at NYNY. It was a fun hotel. Sure it wasn't as nice as Aria (where we stayed before), but it made up for it in the atmosphere, which was way more fun.

Happy hour at the Irish pub in there is a lot of fun, cheap(ish) drinks and a great way to wrap up an afternoon.

So what's a "good" price on combined airfare and hotel? Whether you're buying seperately or as a package?

Air canada vacations right now you can get $1508 for 4 nights at NYNY flights from YVR, lounge access, comped shuttles to and from the airport, and some other perks

Decent?

What kind of room is included in that $1508? I booked 4 nights (mon-fri) in the middle of October last year, and it came out to $930USD.

$1500 is a lot for NYNY - I've never found good prices on AC's site.

I don't like to pay more than $500 a head for Vegas. I recently priced out 3 nights at NYNY and it was $420 each but that was flying Allegiant and I actually found the hotel deal on Groupon IIRC.

I know a lot of people don't like Allegiant but for a short flight to Vegas, who cares. Plus I'm only 10 mins away from the border so its pretty convenient for me to use.

If you're staying at PH, you'll be eating at Earl of Sandwich, I'm sure. Sushi is really really expensive. On the strip, I saw $5 Tuna nigiri. Toro prices weren't even listed. Of all the places we ate at this time, the best was Ellis Island Casino. It's off-strip. One city block east of Bally's. Beers are $2.25 for a 20oz. Their BBQ is open at 4pm, and has a full rack of baby back ribs for $14. The ribs were tender, and very tasty. Great BBQ sauce. It comes with beans, garlic bread, corn on the cob, and coleslaw. The coleslaw, yes the coleslaw, was awesome. Easily the best I have ever tasted. The beans were excellent, as well. It was an oasis in a desert of overrated foods.

I went back a second time, and brought my wife, since she didn't want to make the trek out there with my friends and I. Unfortunately, we arrived well before the BBQ opened, so were were stuck on the cafe menu. That was okay, though. It was a good excuse to try some of their other items. My wife had the southern fried chicken. It was super crispy, and she loved it. The fries were like super crispy fries from Red Robins. I gave their signature burger a shot, and it was delicious. It's definitely one of my all-time favorites. It was our cheapest Vegas meal, too. Including 2 beers and a pop, and tip, the total came out to $27.

It's easy to join the Players Club. Just go to one of the many kiosks in the Casino, and complete the free registration, and print out your coupon.

^ Considering that's over a weekend, that's pretty decent. When I stayed at NYNY, we sprang for a strip view room, but we ended up facing towards MGM and the Excaliber. Not the greatest view of the strip, but that's the design of the hotel itself. When checking in, see if you can score a more north facing room.

I just booked for the end of Jan, 4 nights at the Bellagio (fountain view), non-stop from Bellingham on Alaska. Worked out to be around $550 per person. May not be the best deal out there, but I'm happy with it. Decent flight times, etc.

$900 is a hell of a lot better than $1500!

That's a fair price.

Going to Vegas tomorrow.

Stayin at Venetian.

Anyone try the $20 sandwhich trick at check in? Don't know what kind of room upgrades they have, but even the base room is a suite... I'm assuming a better view??

The Venetian is a nice friggin' hotel. Seems like an older crowd there, but still a nice spot.

The sandwich trick might work, but I don't know of anyone that's tried it there. Couldn't hurt to try.

$20 sandwich trick works. Not limited to Vegas either.

So I got back from Vegas yesterday, flying through allegiant air at bellingham.

Quick review of my trip.

$20 sandwhich trick at Venetian check in.

They gave me a higher suite with the swimming pool view, but not a bigger suite, as expected. MAYBE, if you give them a $50 or 100, they'll upgrade you to a nicer and different suite, but don't quote me on that since the most basic rooms are suites anyways.

Did the 24HR buffet at buffets which includes Planet Hollywood, Paris, Flamingo, Harrah, Caesars Palace and RIO.

Started at 6:30pm till next day 6:30pm. My stomach could only fit 3 buffets during that time frame. I've been to some of the buffets already on previous trips so I wanted to try the ones that I haven't been to.

RIO Seafood Village - Cost additional $15 per person.

It was alright.... they had oysters, crab, small lobster tails, mussels, clams, both raw and cooked. But RIO was far from the strip, you needed to cab it there, otherwise it's a 30-40minute walk. 7/10

Harrah's The Flavours

Went here for lunch, and was just absolute garbage. The only thing that kept me there was the cotton candy, which the wife loves eating. Other than that, nothing special. Mediocre buffet. 5/10

Caesar's Palace Bucchanal Buffet - Cost additional $30 per person.
I'm just gonna say this.

10/10.

This is by far, the BEST buffet I've ever been to in Vegas.
Well worth the food. Includes shit loads of seafood including oysters (actual good quality). Rack of Lamb, Ribs etc. Sushi which included Tako, Eel, and other premium sushi.
The soup was fuckin top notch. Had the mushroom and truffle soup and I literally had to go back for 2nds and 3rds. It was that rich in flavour.

The dessert section was by far the biggest highlight in the buffet.
Creme Brulee, Chocolate Lava cakes, Crepes, and just a whole variety of high end sweets that I couldn't even touch because I was so damn full.

If you plan to go to ONE buffet in Vegas, then make it the Bucchanal Buffet. Original Price is $50-60 per person.

If you do the 24 hr buffet, sign up for a Total Rewards Card (free), and the pass is cheaper. The pass is $50 per person, and then the additional $30.

If you do the 24 hr buffet, I would rate the following buffets in the order of quality and variety.

1. Caesar's Palace
2. Planet Hollywood
3. Paris
4. RIO
5 / 6. Flamingo and Harrahs

Watched O at Bellagio. It was great, but no story line at all.

Watched Zumanity. Funny and sexy, but not really acrobatic performance. More of a "wow" she can do that kind of performance.

So far that's all I got at the moment.

If you want to go to the Rio for the buffet, they have a shuttle every 30mins at Harrahs and Bally's. I also did the 24hr buffet and went to the World Carnival buffet.

Yeah, the Ceasars buffet is nuts. So over the top, it's almost too much! lol The food there was fantastic, but ate so much I felt gross after.

A close second for a buffet, is the one at Aria. Especially if you go for a late lunch (it'll be cheaper), the food and choices were outstanding.
