Review:
Was in Vegas for 36hours, company paid for it. It was a "team bonding" event.. LOL
Stayed in a Suite at the Mirage, Amazing.
Since we landed on a Sunday, my coworkers were searching for a Sports Bar that didn't charge a minimum. Baggage handlers recommended Blondies @ PH. Place was pretty cool, they do weekly beer pong tournaments, keep up to date with the games and if you were near a TV and requested a specific game, the owner would simply change it with his iPad. I also enjoyed the fact that they always played interesting games, Seattle was dominating so they didnt even bother playing it. To me thats awesome, why watch a boring game...
We had dinner at Mon Ami Gabi. Food was amazing and couldnt say anything bad about this place. Although the company pre-booked a 4 course meal, everything was amazing and friends have said the same.
Clubbed at Omnia, it was okay. It was a Sunday night, couldnt expect much.. Pretty dead. Sausage Party.
Ate Breakfast monday at the Ceasars Buffet.. Food was good, amazing amount to choose from. Service was great too, they ran out of waffles and the server brought them right to my table fresh when made. Drinks were always refilled on a timely manner and my cup never ran empty. Worth it, if you have an appetite.
Spent the afternoon at Exotics Racing Experience. It was killer.. $$$ but totally worth it. Your basically racing exotics at their full potential(or your full potential), on a track, with no speed limits and the ability to pass slower drivers(with permission from the instructor). All instructors have racing experience and if you listen to them you'll only get faster. Since you're spending so much, check the tire tread of the car your going to drive. Sometimes its bare and in my case I drove a 458 Italia and was sliding everywhere, had to spend more time trying to tame it, than being able to enjoy the actual racing experience. I didnt know till after and they really didnt offer anything as a compensation, especially after spending $600USD. Also drove a GTR and I did better in that. One recommendation, add additional laps. I'd recommend a minimum of 7, they go by extremely fast. Average lap time is about 1 minute.
Also, I don't drink. So if you think that you need to drink to have a good time in Vegas you're wrong.

^ Agreed. I had only booked 5 laps initially, but they had an offer when I got there to add 2 more laps for x amount, which was cheaper than what I had booked online. Glad I added laps, because they fly by (literally). Like you said, 7 laps would be a minimum if/when I go back.
Didn't do Ceasar's breakfast buffet, but wish I had. Last 2 times I've been to Vegas, we did dinner their. I found it too over the top. Although the food and service was awesome, I just didn't have room to try everything. Maybe I'll have to try the breakfast next time around lol.
Forget Christmas, I can't wait to go back in January!

I went to Exotics Racing back in 2012... and I don't recommend it
Went through 5 laps with the 430, Gallardo. Good to drive, but the customer service was pretty lacking IMO. The co-pilot doesn't really give a shit, they ASSUME that all you want is to go to drive the track as fast as possible, not really actually ENJOYING the car. Would not go again.
I shot a lot of guns at Machine Gun Vegas, and that was MUCH more worth it. Their prices have increased dramatically now unfortunately though.

I'd say that it really depends on who you get as your instructor. Some are good and some are "meh."
I prefer going to Dream Racing. They are smaller but I've consistently had better experiences there. I usually end up going to both Dream Racing and Exotics Racing whenever I get a chance to go to Vegas--but, if I don't have time to go to both, I just go to Dream Racing. Exotics Racing is usually much busier of the two.
With Dream Racing, you get to practice driving on their virtual machines first (graphics are meh but you get the learn the key lines for their track). Last time when I booked my time for 10 laps, the instructor suggested that I split it into 2 segments, 5 laps each. He then spent time after 5 laps to walk me through what I did well and what I should focus on to improve.
I don't know if it's changed, since it's been almost a year since I've been back, but Exotics Racing has an extra brake pedal for the instructor, while Dream Racing does not. The Dream Racing instructors also seemed to be more chill about letting you do what you like, but again, that may have been because of the specific instructors, rather than the company.

The guy I had at exotics was awesome. Pushed me past the comfort zone and directed me right into the proper way of attacking the course, by the end was just pushing me harder and harder for a better lap time
This was in both GTR and Aventador.
Although I've only been to Vegas once it's the #1 thing i recommend most ppl to do
Edit* was no passenger Brake in either car I drove

They only have passenger brakes on the higher HP cars. I can totally understand why. Their braking points are super early, if you have any track or racing experience you can cut that by half. But once you do so you leave very little room for error. After the straight on the 458 I came way to hot into the corner. Instructor told me to get off the brake and worry about the corner, as I let off I could still feel the pedal depressed. My buddies 485 Instructor said he almost died the week before. They were driving down the straight and were going to let another car pass, in doing so the instructor places his hands on the steering wheel incase of an emergency and to make sure you dont make any abrupt movements. Well his drive froze up was still WOT pass the braking point and the instructor had to fully mash the brake pedal as both the brake and gas were depress 100%. He said they missed the other car by inches.. If the instructor finds you're just over driving the car they will eventually just give up on teaching you. It makes sense as you have to be smooth when racing and lots of people are very abrupt and stop listening. In doing so you scrub so much time, get frustrated and try to drive the car way harder. This year I told my instructors I wanted to learn and payed attention to their hints.. At one point I calmed myself down by slowing down the pace and recomposed myself, and I killed the last few laps.
Dream racing looks good to, I might give that a try as they do have more options for cars.
Anyone give any feedback between the 2 tracks?

the guy i was with said anything under a minute is a great lap time, i hit 58 seconds on my 6th lap in the LP700
considering he said the fastest he's personally got is 54, 58 felt pretty good, although 4 seconds is huge on a course like that

I got a 53.80 in the GTR. The 458 holds the track record at ~50secs (I didn't get a direct time, they just said 50). I got a 54.3 in the 458, but was then told I had bald rear tires. So i mightve been faster with better tires. I was told my time was good, but didnt realize I could compete with the instructors who have racing licenses/experience.. LOL
When I did the GT3 last year, I got a 54.5. But I was told I was over driving the car..
Guess all that iRacing payed off.

5 laps on the Nurburgring is cheaper and its a bigger track, but you drive a Suzuki Swift

Where is a good place to buy tickets from Vancouver to Las Vegas for July 2016? I would prefer direct flights, but I'm willing to fly out of Bellingham if needed. Thanks in advance! Happy New Year!

The Wynn is a nice hotel, so right off the bat you have a nice place to stay.
The strip is massive, and takes a while to fully explore. Especially if you've never been before. Plus there is something for everyone. Even if you don't gamble, there is tons to see and do. Loads of shopping at the forums at Ceasars, and the miracle mile at Planet Hollywood.
It's totally not weird to be there alone. Go, and have a good time! |

I'm going on Thursday with a buddy but I bet we only spend half our time together and the rest of the time doing our own thing because we have different interests.
