Any good deals going on right now?

Looking for deals to fly down during the May 6th weekend for the Pacquiao/Mosley fight

Allegiant has round trip flights from Bellingham for ~$200. Been finding so-so deals for hotels so far.

InvisibleSoul 02-01-2011 10:37 AM

Have you checked WestJet Vacations?

http://www.westjetvacations.com/dest...dest/las-vegas

Browny 02-02-2011 02:20 PM

remember alligent air you need to include baggage fares. Can still get you there pretty cheaply plus decent hotel deals right now. Depending on travel dates.

From Vancouver to Vegas for that weekend from 6th May till 9th May staying at Excalibur is around $415 per person (double occupancy).

Save you about $50 going from Bellingham with alligent.

BlakeGriffen 02-02-2011 09:28 PM

Caesars or MGM. Both were awesome.

frost91 02-02-2011 10:39 PM

a couple things to consider when flying from allegiant

- cost about 40 bucks round trip for luggage
- parking will cost about 50 bucks for the weekend

is it still that much cheaper?

BlackV62K2 02-03-2011 12:06 AM

Usually we only have a couple ppl in the group bring a luggage and everyone just puts their liquids and whatnot in there. Everyone else just brings a carry on. Then we just split the cost of the couple luggage fees. Parking is split between everyone in the car as well.

Ch28 02-03-2011 12:28 AM

The problem now is that I'll be flying solo cause everybody else already has their ticket which means flying from Bellingham isn't going to be that much cheaper now :( Even if I take a shuttle there it'll be around ~$300.

I don't need a flight/hotel package cause I'm going to be splitting the cost of the room with friends that already booked theirs.

Looks like I'm forced to find a cheap deal from Vancouver

Browny 02-03-2011 03:00 AM

Alaskan airlines from Vancouver will be the best bet then. That's if availability is still there. Direct isn't cheap. Look to fly via Seattle for the cheaper fares generally. Expedia isn't the cheap place to look either.

Are you going to watch the fight live? if yes, any idea how much tickets are/would be?

just bring a carry on then its free
or 2 people can share 1 luggage to reduce the cost

parking is $7 per night at bellingham IIRC... i was there in OCT last year

so i think 50 bucks for weekend is false

frost91 02-04-2011 08:50 AM

i thought it was 9 dollars a day? so if you went thursday to monday thats about 45 no?

Just got back, wasn't nearly as impressive as I thought it'd be.

Definately wouldn't go there again for non work related travels. I'll take a vacation on a sunny beach in mexico over 10 trips to Las Vegas.

what did you do?

Great68 02-08-2011 10:58 AM

When I wasn't at the tradeshow or in meetings, I did the gunstore thing, saw a couple shows, went to a few different casinos. Nothing too crazy.

The lights, noise, animation and grandeur were cool on the first day but got old quick. I found it pretty disgusting that they allowed smoking in the casinos.

I'm not into clubbing/heavy drinking either, some people are into that so different strokes right.

Like I said, I'm more into the sit on the beach drinking coronas kind of vacation. More relaxing.

Obsideon 02-10-2011 12:31 PM

I just got back, I had the freakin' time of my life!
What an awesome experience I will probably be going again in a few months! The weather was great, much warmer than Vancouver, the shopping malls were big!
The clubs were packed and bumpin'! I like how a "rum and coke" is like 50/50 haha way more than an ounce!
Checking out all the different hotels and casinos were really interesting too!... but I didnt' have enough time! I need to stay there longer!
The newer hotels like Aria and Cosmo, you can't even tell there are smokers in there, the ventilation system is perfect!... as soon as you step into the lobby it smells like a myriad of flower scents lol!... but I know what you mean, the older hotels are stuffy... also the buffets are huge and delicious!... all the restaurants all opened by top celebrity chefs were good too!... too much to mention!

hal0g0dv2 02-12-2011 11:24 AM

^ sounds like u had a blast

chinook79 02-13-2011 04:41 PM

i would avoid caesar's buffet... I was literally chewing salts from food.. They make everything so salty so you are basically 'forced' to drink more
French restaurant at Paris was pretty decent.. escargot was disgusting but the rib eye was one of the best I've had. Pricy but worth try

Check allegiant and alaska air for flights. Remember Alaska doesn't have that $15 convenience fee, so it's a lil more expensive, it's still cheaper after the final taxes and fees.

For hotels, it really depends where you want to stay. For your weekend everything will be expensive, so I'd say stay at the Flamingo or something. Get a Go Room, they're awesome, and there's a promotion for them right now. Not sure if they're available for your dates but always book Allegiant flights and hotels separately. Use http://www.mycheapvegas.com for the hotel deals, 95% of the time its cheaper and you can always cancel the reservations without penalties if there are any problems or want to switch hotels.

Durrann 02-16-2011 11:43 AM

has anyone gone on an April long weekend!?!?

i've heard
Easter weekend is kind of a slow weekend because of all the religious festivities

would it better to go on May long weekend?

Obsideon 02-16-2011 03:44 PM

I'll probably be going back in May!
