Thanks guys! Was considering it because the spa tub being beside the bed... that and living inside a pyramid lol. Any suggestions on other hotels (and what rooms) that could be had for around $100/ night (in aug) which have a fairly large tub (perhaps jacuzzi)? ;)

Look for current running hotel promotions here:

http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com/

It tells you when the deals are valid until and when it expires.

I find that Planet Hollywood & Flamingo tend to have good deals without having to sacrifice living off-strip or at a complete dump (imperial palace/luxor)

The Flamingo's GO rooms were remodeled back in 07 so they're relatively 'new' compared to the other hotels. The location can't be beat and their August prices are looking REALLY GOOD! Just click on their promotion links and click on the "Package Calendar" option to get an idea of the prices for each month.

A lot of hotels won't have jacuzzi's in the room unless you go with a suite and you're looking at least $150-$250 minimum per night. Might as well save the money and get a GO room from Flamingo and just sex your gf in the shower. :troll:

im goin in july and chose aria:)

Aria is really nice. The air ventilation inside the casino is among the best if not THE best on the strip. Not like most other old hotels that just smell like old carpet and stale cigarettes. They must have put some fragrance injector into their system cuz there's a floral flagrance inside, almost like cotton candy.
The good (and bad) thing about Aria is that it's really high-tech. As soon as you walk in the room, be prepared to gasp. It's pretty ballin'. As soon as you open the front door, the curtains open up to show you the beautiful view of Vegas (given you have a higher floor) and the lights + music go on. It's really like something Tony Stark would build haha ... EVERYTHING is controlled with the remote, the lights, the curtains, the heater... now the BAD.... uhh yeah EVERYTHING is controlled by the remote... I wanted to turn off the TV but I pushed the wrong "Off" button and I ended up turning off all the lights in the room..... while my gf was in the shower :haha: ... and on the last day of my stay the entire remote locked up and froze, but I was already checking out so I just left out. If the remote broke on an earlier day I would have been pretty upset lol!
Also the hotel itself is designed poorly, it's way too LONG (and big), with 1 central elevator shaft and if you end up with the room at the far ends of the hotel, be prepared to walk, a lot! I got a room at the end of one corridor and I timed myself, it took me 18 minutes to get from my room door to the front desk!

Tao, XS, and Surrender/EBC are my favs...
It also depends on what type of club setting you enjoy.. with/without dress code? type of music? etc..

Nvasion 05-19-2011 08:02 PM

with or without dress code doesn't matter, prefer hiphop or house music

I'll be sifting through this thread for information but before I do that maybe one of you guys won't mind answering some of my n00b questions. Looking to head down around mid August.

- Is it worth renting a car? Or is better to taxi? What are the rates like for both?
- Which hotel(s) have you had a good experience at? How was the price?

It depends what you're doing. If you're staying at a hotel on the strip and dont plan to do anything off the strip i wouldnt bother renting a car. I'm going in July and planning on spending a day off the strip, so for the one day i'm going to rent a car, the rest i'm just gonna walk/taxi

Hey Guys, I'm headed to Vegas this week and am looking at the following events. Is it worth it to purchase advance tickets? If so what is the wait like after you pickup your tickets?

Just came back from a pretty sweet trip...

Flew Westjet down on Friday night, so got to watch the Canucks game on the in-flight satellite TV... too bad the boys lost though, but it's all good.

Ended up doing bottle service at Treasures that night, and it was weak. Nowhere near enough girls working the joint, and even fewer that were actually good looking. Good thing it only cost like $400 for two bottles.

Saturday was pretty laid back, but Sunday was quite epic.

Started by watching the noon Canucks game at the Playing Field sports book at Planet Hollywood, and met up with a separate group of friends who were there for a stag.

After the win, went to the Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand... that was pretty cool.

Finished the nite with bottle service at XS... got a good hookup. Had three bottles of Goose and two Moet and only cost like $1050.

Rented a minivan for the stay, so drove to old Vegas downtown, and then hit up Red Rock Casino, which is quite a ways off strip, but they have an awesome buffet there that's really cheap. For those that have a rental car, you should definitely check it out.

Our flight back was Tuesday at 9:20pm... so I watched the 2nd and 3rd periods at one of the bars at the airport, but then had to go to the gates after that. There were a lot of Canucks fans there, and several of them were streaming it from their iPads, so we had little clusters of people watching on those... and even when it was time to last call to board, we waited as long as possible.

Turns out it wasn't necessary, as they had the game showing already onboard... and we left just as first OT was over. Missed the first few minutes of 2OT because of announcements and stuff, but we got the last few minutes before Bieksa ended it, and the plane erupted in cheers thousands of feet up in the air. Epic.

Yeah, that kid ruined my saying. I've been saying that as far back as 1993.
