from what I gather it's the downtown area that has crackheads, but freemont street and right by the bus stop were fine.

this works but you don't have to lie, just ask for a complimentary upgrade and have the 20 dollars in between your DL and CC.

i was upgraded to a penthouse suite on the 33rd floor out of 34.

This works at any hotel? I am goin in sept. 2-5 and staying at the MGM. Just wondering if it would work there.

its basically the luck of the weekend... if there isn't really anything going on the weekday/end you go, the chances are they will take the 20 and upgrade your room

if you go on say a weekend where theres a big fight then they'll probably just do a search to see if theres anything. if there isn't anything chances are they won't take your 20

and i was at the mgm where i was upgraded

I saw Cirque de Soleil: Love while I was there and would HIGHLY recommend it. Don't waste your time with the Pirates of the TI, it is a complete waste of time. I did the gondola ride at the Venetian, yawn. The water show outside of the Belaggio is always nice.

Rent a car and visit the outlets in Primm, or the Premium Outlets on Charleston near downtown.

On the Strip, there are a few malls that can't be missed: Forums Shops (Caesar's), Miracle Mile Mall (Planet Hollywood), Fashion Show Mall (just across the street from Wynn and TI), and Grand Canal Shops (Venetian).

Something to wear to Vegas

goin to vegas with buddies in august and just wondering what would be an appropriate thing to wear...

i assume it will b much warmer there, especially during august, is it wise enough to wear something really casual like shirt/beater, with designer jeans/or shorts with nice white kicks/or sandals to get around casinos, nice joints or clubs?

or should i go semi formal for the clubs there?, or can i pull off casual clothing as well?

saucywoman 07-13-2007 03:46 PM

check out http://las-vegas-hotels.tripadvisor....as_Nevada.html there's a bunch of posts about dressing while in vegas...

what you said is fine for walking around and in the casinos; however it can get cold inside so you might want to bring something to cover up if you get cold... other than that on the strip make sure to have lots of water as temps do reach the high 30's-mid 40's

SkinnyPupp 07-13-2007 08:06 PM

Don't wear your beater and jeans to clubs. A lot of places won't let you in with sneakers.

ah_cat 07-14-2007 02:16 PM

I'll be down in Vegas during the long weekend of August too!

For sure b/c it was nearly 50 degrees in Vegas last week, it's fine to walk around the streets w/ a husband-beater on.

And like what SkinnyPupp said, don't go to clubs wearing what you wore during the day. Especially when you're going clubbing w/ a group of guys, it's harder to get in.

Have fun and dress up :)

its goin to b really friggin hot at that time... and i figured i didnt wanna pack up gung ho on clothes

don't rent a car just for that. If you aren't going to be using a car all that much, just catch the shuttle to Primm from MGM I think it is. I believe it's $15/person. Google it and you should be able to get a coupon..

saucywoman 07-21-2007 05:21 PM

here is a website with the coupon for the Primm shuttle along with other coupons..

411ken 07-22-2007 06:17 PM

^ if I were to go back to Vegas, I would rent a car as well if you are planning on doing a lot taxi'ng* or anything far away from the strip as it will add up to about the same or even cheaper if you rent a car. I was there a month ago and spent quite a bit on taxis/shuttle going to the outlets, gun store, etc. But then again, it was a vacation so didn't think too much but just enjoyed our time.

I would only rent a car for 1 day only though then i'd stay around the strip after that as I wouldn't want to be driving around vegas all the time lol.

Have fun for anyone who's going there?

stw3tch 07-23-2007 06:48 PM

im going on december 23

NiceGirl 07-24-2007 09:13 AM
