question for some of the regulars here: My gf and I are planning a trip down for the August long weekend. We don't gamble, nor are we fans of huge shows (we just wanna go to vegas for the hell of it after failing to book a cruise in time) Right now we have a decision to make: Vdara or Aria? (around the same price, give or take 30 bucks) |

smells nice because no smoking, friendly staff. Great house keeping! (they hung my underwear and clothes on the floor). Aria is right across Vdara in the loop lol so takes 1 minute to walk right over if you feel like gambling. +Aria smells like the hottest bitch in highschool. |

Nope Zero. They said "ok, well let a manager know" and that was that. Im not one to chase after these things, but just voiced my opinion. |
That sux I asked for a complimentary room upgrade and the chick gave it to me no problem. When I arrived to zumanity they upgraded me from balcony to front floor seats too without me asking but the show aint that good |
well booked it! $350/person after taxes incl return flight from Bellingham. Staying at Vdara for 4 nights! We get 75 dollar food voucher too. Sweet! |

I stayed at both Vdara & Aria before here's what I like and don't like Vdara - It's a bit tucked in compared to Aria but the good thing is that you are in between Bellagio and Aria. Also Cosmo is an very easy walk (you go left from main doors it's half way between Aria. You'll need to walk down the stairs along the road and you'll end up in the Cosmo lobby) - Not much restaurant choices IMO. Only a bar and a small cafe. - The rooms are super nice they are literally just 1-2 years old. Everything is very modern and controlled by remote. - It's an all suite so you'll get a small kitchenette area with a fridge, sink - Their bathrooms are huge and they have a nicer, bigger stand alone tub than Aria - Their housekeeping service is A+++++++. We had 3 guys sharing a room and lets just say not all of us are exactly clean. So we left it really messy after the first day and the housekeeping service folded back everything (our tshirts on the floor, jeans, shorts whatever and placed it back neatly onto our luggage. The washroom was cleaned up immaculately. Toothbrush and toiletries were neatly placed. Everything was spotless. They did this for us 2 times for our entire stay. - It is a non smoking non gaming casino so this definitely weeds out all the gambling and the hotel is more tame. Aria - Good access to Bellagio, Crystals, Monte Carlo (go through hotel main entrance and they have an underground walkway to MC). - The standard King rooms are small and the views are not that great. - Good selection of restaurants, cafes and bars. The Jean Phillipe Pasterie is the FUCKING BOMB!!!!. It's pretty pricy though the restaurants there. - It's good that you have casino right in hotel. So if you are staying there just one set of elevators and you'll get some action. - House keeping service was non-existent. - Some of the rooms there although new is in pretty bad condition and not as well maintained. - Definitely alot of fucking EYE CANDY. Go have drinks at the City bar (off the cashier's window) and try the Julian Serrano Tapa's. It's good food, drinks, times and prime spot for eye candy. OVERALL: - I'd stay at Vdara over Aria. - Better rooms, better views, better service. - I don't mind not not having a casino or alot of restaurants choices in the same hotel. It's close enough to walk to many other places anyways. Tip: Try $20 trick to see if you can upgrade when you are in the Vdara. Ask for a high floor with bellagio fountain view. |
is flight centre a good place to book flights? |
Got back from Vegas from a trip with my bro last weekend. Coles notes: - Freaking hell, food got expensive in Las Vegas. 89cents for an orange at Walgreens. Restaurants inside of hotels are pretty damn expensive too. - Lawry's for Prime Rib is VERY GOOD. 2nd best I've had in my life, first is still House of Prime Rib in San Francisco - The link I posted about top 10 buffets in Vegas is not up to date. I went to the Rio Seafood buffet and they didn't have 3 versions of lobster tails, only small crappy ones. Food was good, but no decent lobster tail buffet = disappointment. - Xotics Racing (driving a Lambo or a Ferrari on a track) is a lot of fun, but I suggest to get more laps. It took me 4 laps before I actually got used to the braking points, track itself, and the car itself. Essentially, your first car (5 laps minimum) is a write-off, so if you are considering going, get a cheap 5 lap car (like the Cayman) and then your expensive cars. And don't let the instructors rush you. I felt rushed, and expressed my disappointment/ annoyance. - Machine Guns Vegas IS FREAKING AWESOME TO SHOOT MACHINE GUNS. Hot chicks, extremely nice gun instructors, reasonable prices, SHUTTLE TO AND FROM YOUR HOTEL, and a really good time overall. Extremely enjoyable and worth every dollar. |

That's why we decided Vdara over Aria as well - bigger rooms, pretty much all good feedback from online comments (Whereas Aria had some complaints of "thin walls" here and there) We don't gamble, less the 1 dollar in 1cent slot machines here and there... so the non-gaming casino concept in vegas fits us perfectly. Yeah it's true the Aria walls are very thin. I had a very obnoxious neighbor next door to me at Aria and they would return to the room at 3-5 am in the morning every day they would have the loudest party outside of the hall and bring it back into the room. I heard everything single thing. |

just came back from stag. made bachelor wear the borat thong and costume to the Caesars Palace pool made a shufflebot head and went to Wet Republic pool at MGM. Oh and a gold booty short to match the box Ate at Caesars Palace Micheal Richard Central. $50pp 16 oz rib eye and MASSIVE fucking crab legs and three appies. Craftsteak at MGM - great steak and service $50 per steak a la carte sides Avg. $12 Wicked Spoon buffet in Cosmo $45pp. food was soso, good service, highlights were the beef ribs on the bone, shrimp/mussel/clam butter station, angry mac n cheese went to Haze, XS, Marquee. Marquee is da best on Saturday night. go early and if u r all dudes... good luck getting in... bottle service at strip clubs is da best! 350 per bottle plus 30% tax, tip etc. if u get bottles a t strip clubs, the strippers circle around like vultures, which is exactly what u want lol cuz on a packed night all the hot ones are booked solid so u want the most exposure u can get. strippers strippers strippers, love em. |

I ate at the Comso Wicked Spoon Buffet for Dinner my last trip (on a Sunday June 10 ish after the big Pacqauio fight). Here was my experience. Went to line up at 6:15 and only got inside the buffet at 7:30. In terms of food choices - Nicely presented in the individual ramakins and stainless steel plates - Quality is absolute shit. Crab legs were so thin and tasteless. - They had some unique things like truffle fries, truffle scallop potatoes, fried pork tails, beef ribs, crab and heirloom tomato salad, bone marrow but all these items were pretty crappy. - What's worst was halfway through the Buffet at 8 3/4 of the chefs disappeared from the stations so alot of food ran out and when they got back they were rushing to make it(very poor quality) I circled the buffet 3 times and only loaded up on truffle fries...... - The desserts were good but again they ran out of alot of stuff Overall after reading all the reviews on Yelp, Urbanspoon I really dunno what the hype was about. I've seen consistent 4.5 to 4.75/ 5 reviews. But I would give it a very disappointment 1/5 and WOULD NOT RETURN. Go to the better buffets like Wynn & Bellagio |
