i was scalping/day trading. trades were like seconds to several hours. usually just minutes, like 15-40minutes on average?

market profiles? just looked it up... nah don't have any experience. I purely used technical analysis, and watched for important dates like reports etc.

I stopped trading cuz I lost control and didn't follow my trading rules, and just started to gamble lol. I haven't traded since then. I wanna start trading again soonish, probably no more day trading. it's too stressful, too glued to the screen 24/7. I'll probably swing trade, look at the bigger charts, catch the bigger swings.
is this real life?

26 points and you stopped?!?!?!?!?!?

with the liquidity available in ES you can be trading 100+ contracts

100 contracts x 26 points = 130g ........ 10 contracts 13g a day.

even if you were only getting 2-4 points thats still 10-20g a day with a large enough account. small account still has you in around 1-2g's a day. Roll out of bed in your pj's make a few grand and go back to sleep. Can not think of a much better way of making money then that.

lol yes this was real life.

yes, i realise i coulda traded more contracts... for CL i only ever traded 2 contracts at most, at that time it was like 13grand initial margin.
i forgot what ES was... not as high, like 5g? i only traded 1-2 contracts at a time as well.
haha, 100 contracts is scary dude, firstly, i don't have that kinda capital, the margin on that would be like $500 000!!! haha... and it gets so emotional. any small slip up and u start to freak based on the large numbers. I was planning on slowly working my way up, but that didn't happen!

yeah a lot of days I'd roll outta bed, click a few buttons and then made a few hundred or a grand then roll back into bed. You get lazy like that though, and it gets to you.

Yeah, i really REALLY want to get back into trading, itching to trade. soon... soon ill post my daily trades or whatever i analyze up if i do start trading again. ES and CL baby!
trading SP500 (not e-mini) was fun. I did that twice. the numbers are huge man. the only problem is the margin requirement was like 20grand back then, and it was NOT electronic. so it was fucking slow, once my order to get out didn't even go through! i was like WHAT the fuck after 2min of waiting i put my order through again and it went through. phewph, those 2 min made me something like 500 bucks, but shit like that makes you NOT wanna trade non electronic. never know if your order is just sitting in some floor brokers fucking pocket or lost somewhere being used as a bookmark hah.

mind u all my experience was around the time of the recession, like summer of 2008, till marchish 2009. markets were a lot more volatile back then!

The rumors have been going around for awhile now and this is probably the best thing at this time, for the commissioner to step in and stop SOC claims to the land. That was what was stopping CAN's price from continuing to move up, this will be worked out in CAN's favor.

ooh then should i ignore some of the comments on stockhouse?
some are stating that CAN mgmt made a mistake on the land claims and perhaps CAN will have to share the land or payout SOC...

Notwithstanding this particular stock you guys are talking about. Just a general tip on investing/trading. You need to remember that no one has ever gone bankrupt by taking profits. If you are in the money in this stock, it doesn't hurt to lock some in at this point especially with the huge run up. Bulls make money, bears make money, pigs gets slaughtered. I am not saying it can't go up but looking at the chart, risk/reward is not favorable to the long side.
