Decent day considering markets were in a sea of red.

Both Cin & Roz held up well.

& Waddy, if you want technicals, Crk.to is setting up perfectly for an ascending triangle, could be mere days for a possible breakout.

ROZ is on steroids....
I'm overwhelmed by all the choices....but I think I'll hold off on buying until after the elections..
Also, I'm still paying 28.95...my rate's gonna change on Nov 22...so I'll wait until then..

Yeah, it's been a great October.

& Now if only KOK.VN doesn't cop out and gets that land agreement done, still in the red on that play.

I'm being very cautious....everyone know a correction is coming soon...just don't know when..right now I'm just dipping my feet...in and out very quick for small profits..
This is the first year I'm trading actively...am I gonna get taxed fully on these gains?

I'm with RBC...
start with 28.95
30 trades/quarter is 9.99

Surprised you are not trading out of an Tfsa.

Yeah, outside it, in a regular equity account. You are looking at 50% of capital gains taxed at your tax bracket. Or vice verse with Losses.

Surprised you aren't picking a cheaper brokerage company like Qtrade or Questrade, etc if you are trading more active.

Will be looking at PAW.v tomorrow & CRK again to watch for a confirmation of a breakout.

Ya I messed that up....instead of transferring funds, I withdrew from my ING account
AND THEN i read the rules....FACEPALM
I am excited to start in 2011
Also I have everything with RBC it's just easier....$10/trade is pretty good..

your picks are looking good this morning..

So you have a tfsa account at least? So 5000 this year and 5000 in Jan/11.

yeah 10/trade is good, but since you trade a couple of large cap stocks, depending on the volume size, you can pay 4.95 through Questrade. But if your happy with the tools, etc with your broker, it's usually good to stick with it.

Roz...........Definitely interesting trading.

Yes I have contributed max to an ING Direct account...
the start was okay because it paid 3%, but now I think it's only 1.5%

I feel like I've missed the boat on ROZ and don't want to buy in too high...but at the same time I don't want to miss the boat...

Congratz, but holding through a FDA decision is pretty crazy even with extensive DD. The intra-day move on these bio names are so manipulated as well. It was pretty obvious big boys wanted to load the boat on this name, so they create some false rumor to trigger all the sell stops before the actual announcement.

Yup, Carl I'm never investing into a bio company again, i've been burned too many times but this has put me in the green. Will be researching commodities now

Congrats on AVNR
Are you still holding? Going to sell first thing Monday morning?
I got burned once...COM popped once but I didn't know I should have sold...now I'm still holding =(

Canaco and Sonora have a month to come up with a resolution before the Tanzanian government settles for them. Some thing that CAN will have to pay out or give out CAN shares...
Either way CAN is a good long term investment..

Congrats for the wicked gain on it. I hate taking 50/50 risks. I try to either sell before news or reduce my holdings by a lot.

Especially on the venture exchange where information leaks on a consistently basis. Look at CXT.V, Right before today's news release, it drops 10% yesterday. Coincidence? Nah, just buddies getting the first word.

And about ROZ, lol. If you want me to give you reasons to buy or not to buy, I can give plenty, but you have to decide whether the risk/reward situation is favourable or not. It's gained 25% since the 25th of October so it is quite a bit.
All I know is, I am still holding for now, but it can change on any day.

And about CAN, without a doubt, the tanz gov't didn't really do a whole heck of a lot except to tell these guys to duke it out themselves. So I'm thinking there will be no major movements until we know for a fact the resolution. SOC jumped because their CEO said they covered their basis and believe they have a valid title to claim. Who knows? All I can predict from here is shorters taking advantage of the mess and will be hammering away at the stock.

I think with picks like AVNR, it's just like going to the casino
Put in the money you're willing to lose, but know there's a chance you can double it.

subordinate, congrats on the win on HSM
I'll put ROZ on my watch list and wait for a possible pullback
I really don't want to swing trade anything outside my TFSA...I already have 20 transactions this year and don't know what the CRA will say..

Also, I'll take a look at natural gas futures pre-market...if it's up then I'll think about buying HNU...
but again, I don't want to swing trade and I haven't played with ETFs before..

honestly I'm new to junior miners/explorers...I don't know how to find undervalued companies yet

I'm still very amateur...I know that one of my weaknesses is selling losers...
I'm the type that is right 80% of the time but is gaining only 5% because I want to hold the losers...maybe they'll rebound..
