volatility is your friend...greater risk + reward

In the next few days I'm going to look at CSCO calls...I've never traded calls before so I don't know what to expect..I don't even know how to put the order in...
The MOST IMPORTANT THING...1 contract = 100!! I won't f*ck that up//

OK I tried but I guess I have to apply to trade options? Maybe I'll just buy CSCO...

BEL and NVT are so lightly traded...
What are the disadvantaged of BEL? (sorry I haven't read the article yet)
maybe I'll get into NVT at a lower price..

i dont really follow BEL but, NVT was lightly traded until the NR from oct 25 which basically gave them first right of refusal to any projects that ENAMI has in their portfolio which is like saying first right of refusal to all mining projects in Canada. NVT has other properties in Finland with a 43-101 comming up on thier PGE located next to Goldfields in Northeastern Finland and by nortecs numbers they have more deposits with half the drilling

but Ecuador is HUGE some of thier projects down their are just Massive this stock i beleive will close $5 next year or two if not more

I read that yesterday...I don't really know what to think..it also depends on your investment goal..are you holding it for life and collecting dividends? are you holding last year's loser until the end of this year and then buying this year's loser? or are you swing trading?

i'm swing trading most of the time...when buying large caps I pick an entry point based on technicals..i don't even care about the dividends really..

BTW..I'm holding as a super long...I picked BMO because its yields are higher than the norm

The article also says that RY will be next year's winner.
But IMO RY is strong regardless..didn't an article just come out naming RY as "too big to fail"? I will also buy some RY during the next pullback.

When only looking at dividend yields, BMO is 4.6%, CM is 4.4%, RY, BNS are 3.6% and TD is 3.2%

Edit: Also, BCE is 5.29% and T is 4.25%

cheap is a relative term

i wouldn't advise even considering owning anything more than mutual funds if you invest based on 'prices being cheap'

having said that, there are opportunities - i, for example, was looking at a korean stock (KEP), i think it has long term potential, as fits nicely in my diversified portfolio as an energy/future nuclear enegy stock

well, after the little scuffle the other day, korean stocks dropped 5% - i got a nice discount on this stock, its back up to almost where it was a week ago... there may be more fluctuations, but i see it as a long term buy that i have already gained nicely on for this year

so, yes, if you have some european stocks in mind, might this be a good time to buy? maybe, i'm looking at TEF, i think the spanish markets will take a bit of a beating in the coming weeks as the next 'bail out' may be coming spain & portugals way, or at least some stress on their markets, so i'm keeping an eye on it - TEF is too big to ever fail, their accross >100 spanish speaking countries and are a good dividend paying stock with good long term growht potential (and are a nice telecoms company for your diversified portfolio), so if i can gain 5% in a matter of a couple of weeks SOLELY based on emotion relating to bail outs and perceived weakness in the european markets, you bet i will - but just because the european markets are hurting right now doesn't mean you can just enter without a plan

also, europe's not done weakening yet... its going to be a good time to buy euro's soon, for the longer term hold, as hte US $ is getting artificially overvalued as everyone rushes to $$ from euro... things will calm down and they'll go back to the euro, and US $ will hurt again - so there's potential there for a swing, maybe pick up 4 - 6% on the in & out in a matter of months... good return

i don't even know what you're trying to say here

you need to make these decisoins for yourself - euro will be weak for a while, too weak for a time being, this, and many other things will hurt their stocks - lots of things can and will happen... i'm happy to invest in some of the strong euro stocks that i liked at a point in time, for hte long term, but you can do what you wish

The Assay delays are going to put some decent pressure on the stock.

Early December is now what they are reporting. Labs are backed. The good thing is, news will be coming in through to January.
Hope the REE mania phase doesn't die out by then

I haven't even bought into the REE hype...
Here's my watchlist
#1 AVR - I'm very bullish on this one...I bet it'll go to $2 by year end...and another huge pop when they announce Q4/year end earnings..people are comparing AVR to Semafo..
Rising production, low cost at $550USD per oz.

GOZ - low P/E, decent production but has higher production cost at $700CAD/oz..
GOZ SP will correlate with POG

TVC - sideways consolidation with declining stochastics..
Held by Pinetree and Sprott

and of course....still watching EPO

PPI looks good it has a huge audience. nice volume (35 mil shares since 22) not a lot of shares out insiders haven't been selling, if it comes off a bit then i think it would be a buy with their up coming drill results and 43-101...i think this is waddys pick ??

No I'm out of Potash ATM...I had KCL, WPX and EPO since spring but I sold them all too early...
Is it weird that both Encanto and Western Potash both announced PPs on the same day?
In my uneducated opinion, the first thing that popped in my head was that those companies want to raise cash on their own and do not want/ see a takeover in the near future. So S/Hs waiting for a bid were a bit turned off, therefore leading to the sell off.

I just put a lot into AVR..big risk big reward....
