Finally! KOK-V releases news that they have optioned the property in Tanzania. Good for a gap up tomorrow. I've been holding this thing since they mentioned the possibility of it.

& Anyone pick up New gold warrants at 8cents? (Now at 10 cents) It was a steal when that iceberg sellers was dumping a couple days back.

I'm still holding onto cuu. Got most of them at .47 and kept getting more on the way up. Holding for 4 months now and will keep holding.

7seven 12-07-2010 05:48 AM

are warrants different from buying normal stocks? I was trying to read up on it and it sounds more like options where your shares will expire in a given time.

waddy41 12-07-2010 08:14 AM

"A warrant is like an option. It gives the holder the right but not the obligation to buy an underlying security at a certain price, quantity and future time. It is unlike an option in that a warrant is issued by a company, whereas an option is an instrument of the stock exchange. The security represented in the warrant (usually share equity) is delivered by the issuing company instead of by an investor holding the shares.

Companies will often include warrants as part of a new-issue offering to entice investors into buying the new security. A warrant can also increase a shareholder's confidence in a stock, provided the underlying value of the security actually does increase over time. (Warrants are just one type of equity derivative."

I might just pay more attention to this thread in the new year. I won't take part in some of these stocks right now because I only play if I know I'm going to make 100%+

what you said makes no sense

you never know that you're going to make 100%

and even when stocks are up, you've got to look at where they're going, not where they've been

i've had a good day today, been playing a high risk game with bank of ireland, up 22% or so today... but feel i need to time my exit out of that game sooner than not

i've got some other positions that i'm theorizing on, not sure if they're going to come up trumps, guess we'll see when q4 results come out in feb...

p.s. i'm going to start getting a lot more active in this thread... been seriously trading for a while now, with my benchmark being S&P 500 - so far so good, but this is a hard market to not be a winner in right now, especially with what the US are doing - bull market on some growth & lots of 'good news'

where are you guys getting more of your junior mine info from? i rarely have plays in jnr mines, and feel they're a huge risk, unless you know someone on teh inside (i actually work in mining on teh finance side, but for a multi billion dollar market cap company, so my exposure to jnr mines is limited)

iceburner 12-08-2010 06:26 AM

wow, MER is pretty low. I think it'll go a bit lower though

rb 12-08-2010 10:29 AM

^ I have no doubt it will. My portfolio took a beating on MER.

waddy41 12-08-2010 11:46 AM

Are you still holding MER?
cheap paper is coming out next week...i think i'll pick up some more

Yes I regret not selling at .39...I hope to get my money back in the long run..

henry604 12-08-2010 12:12 PM

Hope is not a viable strategy in the market. I would rather cut loss quickly than holding it hoping some good news will come. By the way CAN is starting to looks like a good short as long as it stay below $6.

mas604 12-09-2010 01:29 PM

CAN up to 6.05 very nice and SFF also up...

Carl Johnson 12-09-2010 03:49 PM

So much for shorting CAN lol! It's always dangerous to short in a bull market anyway.

Wild_Penguin 12-09-2010 03:50 PM

What do you guys think of CMH?

t8v6 12-09-2010 04:48 PM

anybody holding LBSR?
