Damn MER! I swear that stock is being manipulated

Every single time it's just a little big higher than what I set my price at

(just ranting, I have not basis)

rb 12-14-2010 07:22 PM

^ I've had that feeling since it ran up $0.51 on no news and then came crashing back down.

rymack 12-14-2010 07:41 PM

Well when there is cheap paper out there its natural for people to sell they stock they are holding to replace it at a lower price. Everyone selling pushes it down .

On another note I heard that the Chief Geologist is holding 14 million shares....and he isn't selling anytime soon. Perhaps someone with a little more experience could shed some light as to the meaning of it but I take it as a positive sign.

That's right. A great way to build my fortune, or just another way to lose what little I have.

You have any on your watch lists? Maybe we could elaborate on our picks.

Is anybody watching Uranium One?

I still have a fairly large position on uranium one. It has been trading sideways since the ex-div date. I'm positive this one still has a ways to go as uranium prices are on their way up

i like the support bids for NVT =D

mas604 12-15-2010 10:59 AM

Looks like some manipulations going on with SFF as well. Been going down for awhile now so I got out and took a loss but looking at the surrounding site looks like other mining companies around Seafield Resources had some degree of success.

So it brings up question...How does one can tell whether a particular mining site has potential? Would I look at surrounding companies and their success?

gdoh 12-15-2010 11:22 AM

^ yea alot of companies will go into places were others have had success and grab property around it because of trends with deposits and ride on the back of that like if RVC comes out with good news i will most likely reflect on TYE

DD, learn to read drill results, look at the history, people behind it, have patience, etc.

Where would you start to learn how to read drill results? Any recommendations on books? or websites?

what platforms do you guys use?

anyone use interactivebrokers or thinkorswim? what do you guys think of those?
what do you guys recommend best for day trading? what program has the best charts?

subordinate 12-16-2010 07:24 PM

I use Questrade, and their charts are decent. It's fairly standardized I would believe.

GMV is rocking.

Although KOK-V hasn't made the big jump I had hoped for, I firmly believe its' a patience game for this stock. Their land package is fairly decent in the area and like history says, this stock will need to be pushed higher before a pp is done again.

waddy41 12-16-2010 07:43 PM

sub...how many stocks do you hold at one time?

you should be able to download demos for both, i believe

ib charges for services but their trades are ridiculously cheap

Probably 5 max.

Just also wanted to say that the stocks I've mentioned, I've held at some point and may or may not be holding.

You must be making a killing with ROZ waddy.

On a side note, I've notice Texalta (Tex.a) hasn't jumped during ROZ's Increases. Tex is in the same area with good prospects as well, but definitely not as good as ROZ. I say if people catch on, TEX.A (@1.15) should move as well.

gdoh 12-17-2010 05:13 AM

i know ive mentioned NVT before and i will say it again BUY IT

waddy41 12-17-2010 07:03 AM

gdoh...what do you know about NVT that we don't know?
There has been a lot of insider selling...

sub...I didn't make a lot on ROZ...my avg cost was 1.8 and my avg selling price was 2.42..
The article in the Globe made me want to sell...basically it says other companies have drilled before and were unsuccessful...

I bought BMO.TO and SLW today...

gdoh 12-17-2010 07:24 AM

i know that you will be happy ;)

waddy41 12-17-2010 08:26 AM

OK i'll just hold...i got in at .2 and am not happy with the action lately..

One thing I learned is that I can't swing trade the same stock continuously...I get too emotional and forget to look at the big picture...I have to wait at least a week before jumping back in..
I'm really messing up on SVM

gdoh 12-17-2010 08:34 AM

http://www.stockhouse.com/tools/?pag...wsid%3D7919800

that right there just be patient i would grab more to lower my cost

that one guy sold because of personal reasons...the chairman has 3mil plus of his personal money into it..you think nothing will get done??

waddy41 12-17-2010 08:42 AM

Stockhouse poster said NVT paid a LOT to have that NR out
I don't know if that's legit or that post is legit..

gdoh 12-17-2010 08:46 AM

which are you talking about??

i think NR you have to pay by word

waddy41 12-17-2010 08:58 AM

I can't find the post and I can't quite recall, but it had something to do with copper mesa?
Do you remember or know what that was all about?

gdoh 12-17-2010 09:08 AM

ooo yea that was a few years back NVT gave money to copper mesa (around 500k) for a property that was being taken by the government. so NVT lost that money but slowly started to gain good relations with the government of Ecuador. until recently no1 thought Nortec had anything to with them, until they were seen in a news paper from Ecuador sitting at a meeting with the president and other big mining companies. NVT was invited a couple more times down there to give presentaions and what not. So dont u think nortec has something that the Ecuadorian government likes for them to be able to beat out BIG mining companies and to form basically a partnership with the government.
